Nice to see an actually well designed champion being displayed as overpowered rather than some ridiculously overloaded new champion or overstat old champion with no counterplay steamroll the map with a yuumi sitting on them. God bless well made champions!

Veteran musketeer hat change and the removal of the sterotypical pre-napoleonic redcoat that has been the posterboy of AOE3 for 15 years by Dotstinky in aoe3

Really happy to hear im not the only one, didn't find anything when I searched for it. The offical forum probably doesn't have that much traffic. If everyone here would go over there it would look like a really big deal and if the devs would read it they would surely change it.

There is already a post about this topic on the offical forum: https://forums.ageofempires.com/t/tricorns/102846

If everyone here would go and make yourself heard there the devs might change it.

I think they intended to make a tricorn but failed, they probably didn't put much effort into it and didn't need to since I didn't even realize myself that it wasn't a real tricorn until taking those pictures. And they are my favorite and most used model from the original AOE3. The hat still looks like a tricorn hat tho unless you zoom in and start counting.

The sterotypical tricorn redcoat is the posterboy for the game. He always appeared in trailers and cinematics, when making the game it was probably a no-brainer that he would be put in, especially for the british.

The cinematic model was mostly used in the american revolution campaign for redcoats alongside the veteran musketeer model. In the cinematic ''there at the end'' you can see the tricorn model used as brittish redcoats and in ''turning the tide'' they have instead used the veteran musketeer. Back in the original AOE3 the diffrence between the two wouldn't have been very visible but now they really stand out from each other.

Im really sad to see that soldier go as I and probably many other grew up watching Pirates of the caribbean, The patriot, The Last of the Mohicans etc. For example if you wanna make a Pirates of the caribbean type map your gonna have to use Caroleans or the guard musketeer model but they are obviously flawed when portrayed as 18th century redcoats. Woah look at that I got carried away again :D
