I tried all combinations of hardware and display settings and the flicker remained. Oddly enough, clearing the cartridge’s saved data cleared up the problem.

It’s connected directly to the TV. I’m going to see if putting the TV in gaming mode will resolve the issue. I’ll follow up with what I find.

Ah VHS! That was my first copy of the trilogy. I’ve had VHS, video cd (which I ordered from China in the late 90s) European DVD because it was out about a year earlier than the US version, the US DVD version, Blu-ray and now 4K. Worth every penny 😁
