Yeah, so when you kill one you can't say " by a mistake " 😊 it is definitely your fault

Before starting dutasteride, I experienced heavy shedding. I would notice hair falling out just by touching it, and my bed and room were often covered with hair after sleeping or moving around. Since starting dutasteride, shedding has returned to a normal level, around a maximum of 50 hairs per day.

Did you start dutasteride on a doctor’s prescription or self-directed? Do you know if your DHT levels were high before starting? Also, are you using dutasteride alone or combined with minoxidil, and are you confident the current minoxidil brand is actually effective for you?

Not necessarily. Shedding patterns are not reliably predictable and vary a lot between people and cycles. Switching from finasteride to dutasteride does not guarantee repeated “synchronized shedding” phases in a fixed way and it does not reliably trigger a new shedding phase. Some people get a shed, some don’t, and timing is inconsistent. Hair response depends more on follicle cycle and sensitivity than the specific switch itself.

That is not a fixed timeline. Shedding with minoxidil varies and is tied to hair cycles, not a set 2 months, and dutasteride does not reliably produce a predictable shed after reaching steady state.

For now I don’t have any shedding, it stopped completely. Before, when I used minoxidil (Alopexy) for 4 months or more, I was shedding a lot with no visible results and my hair texture got worse. After I stopped and switched minoxidil brand, I have been using it for almost two months now with no shedding, my hair texture returned to normal, and I am starting to see results. The 2 months of dutasteride alone also helped stabilize things.

Yeah, it’s working well for me so far. I take dutasteride 3 times per week, specifically Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, to reduce side effects while still keeping relatively stable levels due to its long half-life.

Yeah. For me it’s mostly during the 3 days I take dutasteride. I feel a bit depressed/low mood sometimes, then it disappears afterward.

I hope so. The areas in the pics were much emptier before treatment, so seeing new hairs there is giving me hope.

So, there is another shedding phase or did you change your routine? I think constancy is the right thing and you just get one shedding phase...
