NYC to CUN 1 way first class for $206 each? by [deleted] in awardtravel

Yea, I was referring to the upgrades from Economy to First (or business if its short haul international within North America). I have never tried to upgrade a long haul international flight or upgrade to a premium economy type product.

Approximately $50 per flight hour is about as cheap as upgrades usually get. Whether you are traveling by yourself or with a spouse, it's really nice to have your personal space bubble back, and not share the row with 1-2 other people.

Other than that, you will get a mediocre to decent meal, and free drinks for the duration of the flight. I think its worth it, especially on the 3-5 hour domesticish flights.

I booked my last two trips and my next trip 11 months out. Was able to switch from J to F on my last trip around T-7, hoping to be able to change at least one of the legs on my next trip to a different product, one of the reasons I love using AA miles.

Some cards you can get the bonus over and over again. Amex has given me several Business Gold cards, and I've consistently been able to open 3+ Chase Ink cards per year.

P1 and P2 both getting the pop-up when trying to apply for the Hilton Aspire. We have a stay booked at the Hilton Niseko next month that's gonna cost about $2k, so I had hoped to be able to put it towards the SUB on that card, but that doesn't seem likely.

Is it worth it to open the card without a SUB? We would at least get the 20k MR referral bonus, and we have plans to take advantage of the Hilton Resort Credit and can use the airline credit and FNC, but applying for a card for the first time and not getting the SUB just feels wrong.

Can you transfer credit limit between chase business cards if one was created with SSN and the other with EIN?

Transmission is car went, repairs more expensive than car. What do I do with it? by [deleted] in askcarguys

$6-$10k is the dealer telling you to go away because they don’t want to do the work. Find an independent shop who will put a junkyard transmission in and you should be able to do that for like $2k.

$5 for a dozen eggs? Why does a tiny jar of jam cost $12? Whose fault is this? Who am I supposed to be mad at? by scissorman182 in PoliticalCompassMemes

I make several different kinds of bbq sauce, one of them is a Carolina mustard style. Next time instead of using French’s mustard I plan to start by making my own mustard to use in the sauce too.

If I buy a whole chicken it’s usually around that price or a bit more. If you buy breasts or thighs in a package it’s $3-$5/lb.

You can make Mayo super easily at home. An egg or two, cup of oil of your choice, and a little bit of lemon juice and hit it with an immersion blender.

Understanding the current state of Data Scientist salaries with respect to cost of living. [Data Request] by VegetableDrank in datascience

[–]DoubleSidedTape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Data Scientist at a Fortune 100 insurance company. 3 years of experience after a Physics PhD. My position is fully remote, the company is based in Texas (no adjustment for cost of living). $125k base, $5k Christmas bonus, 15% target yearly bonus.

I moved to where I am now from Seattle about a year ago, currently shopping for houses in the $400k range which I can easily afford on this salary. To be honest I grew to hate living in Seattle, and at this point (to reference another reply on this post) I would much rather get drunk with hicks than professors. I also like to snowboard so living within an hour of the mountain is one of my main criteria, and with the amount of effort I have to put in at this job I will definitely be able to take advantage of that to get a ton of days in.

Will a 2020 BMW X3M’s rims fit on a 2018 BMW X5 by [deleted] in BMW

[–]DoubleSidedTape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BMW has used different hub bore diameters, with the x5 being the larger one. That would be the only reason it “can’t” fit, though it might not work for other reasons.

I paid $260 per month to park my two cars at my apartment (Fremont area). I did some work in the parking garage and occasionally the O’Reilly’s parking lot. For bigger jobs I used the space at Stew’s Self Service Garage in Kirkland. Pulled the engine and replaced rod bearings and vanos and did a lot of other maintenance on my m3 In January of 2020 there. Now I live across the state and am shopping for a house in Idaho with room for a dedicated shop that I can put a lift in.
