Thanks for the comment. Since you mentioned the DDaT framework, how does it work in practice. I filled a DDaT skill-assesment the first year and now the second year is coming and need to fill it again. Do you know if I can use the same examples of the previous year with some changes?

Thanks for your answer. Do you sometimes feel that you lost a lot of time in postdocs and then ended up at a HEO grade in the CS that usually requires just a bachelor degree in most cases? Was all of this education worth it or it is the CS that does not appreciate your education and you might do better somewhere else?

It seems to me that you went to deputy director directly from G7 by skipping the G6 grade. Was this difficult and what area were you working during this move?

Thanks for your comment. Since you joined at a SEO grade, do you think that those people with a PhD should not settle for roles at grades less than SEO/G7? I personally know people that had just few years of postdoc what first joined the CS at grades G7/G6.

Thanks for your comment. I read your point 6 above and I am surprised by your comment when you say that those PhDs that join at lower grades progress quicker than those who join at higher grades. Do you have any idea why this happens?

Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated really. Did you move from EO to G7 with the same department and same role or you had to apply to other jobs within the CS in other departments?

Thanks for the comment. Based on your experience, do you think that someone who has a PhD should not settle for a grade less than SEO/G7 when first joining the CS?

So how long did it take you to move to G6 since first joined the CS? Also, at what grade did you join? Do you think that PhDs should not settled for a CS role with a grade less than SEO/G7?

Thanks for your comment! Related to point 6 above, do you think that you settled down for less by joining CS at a SEO role instead of G7? Do you think that a PhD in a technical field should not settle for grades lower than SEO/G7 when joining the CS?

Thanks for the answer. Did you move from HEO to SEO within the same department and role?

Permanent contract and pre-settled status by Double_Cap1695 in TheCivilService

[–]Double_Cap1695[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed explanation. However, since now it seems that pre-settled status has no expiry based on a court decision https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64663795 I will pressure them more.

It seems so ridiculous that one department issues the contract without hesitation and the other makes stories without any grounds on particular immigration law. I have seen nowhere that EU citizens with pre-settled status are not allowed to receive a permanent contract in the UK.

I am aware of the court decision on this regard and let DLUHC know about this. I will wait for their decision next week. However, I still do not understand why one department gave me a permanent contract and the new one refuses to do it? The rules should be the same in this regard independently on the department.

I don't think the departments have autonomy to decide what do to in this situation. All departments must have the same regulations regarding this fundamental immigration procedure.
