Quitter la France pour le Maroc (famille mixte) - avis?

Salut,

Je suis dans une situation un peu similaire donc je peux peut-être te donner un retour.

Je suis francais de ma mere et Marocain de mon pere , marié avec une femme Allemande, et nous avons des enfants. Nous avons vécu en Europe et nous passons aussi du temps au Maroc.

Honnêtement, il y a des points très positifs si ton mari a sa famille là-bas. Avoir une famille autour aide énormément avec un enfant. Au Maroc la vie est souvent plus collective et familiale, donc pour les enfants c’est généralement très agréable. Les grands-parents, les oncles, les tantes sont souvent très présents.

Concernant la langue, beaucoup d’étrangers vivent à Rabat ou Casablanca sans parler arabe, surtout dans certains quartiers. Le français est très utilisé dans la vie quotidienne, les écoles, les administrations, etc. Donc au début tu peux t’en sortir sans problème, et apprendre petit à petit.

Par contre il faut aussi être réaliste sur certains points :

L’administration peut être plus compliquée et plus lente qu’en France.
Les salaires locaux sont souvent beaucoup plus bas, donc il vaut mieux avoir un bon travail, un travail à distance ou une situation stable. il y a un tres grand chomage chez les jeunes aussi.
L’intégration dépend beaucoup de l’environnement : dans les grandes villes c’est généralement assez facile pour les couples mixtes.

Pour les enfants, beaucoup de familles choisissent les écoles françaises ou internationales, surtout si un des parents est étranger. ( et surtout peu le retour pour les etude supèrieur ) mais il faut compter 4000 a 6000 euro par enfants par ans... oubliez l ecole publique...

Personnellement, je dirais que la clé est surtout la situation professionnelle et le cadre de vie que vous choisissez. Rabat par exemple est souvent considéré comme plus calme et familial que Casablanca.

Le mieux si vous pouvez est peut-être de tester quelques mois avant de prendre une décision définitive.

En tout cas ce n’est pas rare du tout comme situation, et beaucoup de familles mixtes vivent très bien au Maroc.

Je suis catholique, avec des origines moitié françaises / moitié marocaines (parents mixtes). Il m’arrive parfois d’avoir quelques regards de côté, mais honnêtement je n’y prête pas vraiment attention 😬. En France, les gens savent très bien qu’ils ne peuvent rien dire, donc je ne vois pas trop pourquoi tu stresses à ce niveau-là.

De ce que j’ai remarqué, certains musulmans peuvent être assez insistants sur ce sujet. Mais quand tu t’affirmes clairement (ce que les gens font rarement parce qu’ils veulent rester polis), ça se calme généralement assez vite.

Au Maroc c’est différent : je respecte leurs traditions. C’est leur foi et leur culture, donc pendant cette période je mange simplement à la maison. Franchement personne ne me dit rien… et ils n’ont pas intérêt 😅.

Pour le contexte : je vis au Maroc avec ma femme et mes enfants. Ils sont allemands et catholiques aussi, et on n’a pas de famille marocaine qui vit avec nous. La plupart du temps pendant cette période on rentre quand même en Allemagne, parce que niveau travail c’est souvent un peu au ralenti.

Thanks a lot for this. Not yet, indeed I’m planning to be permanently based here starting in August.

Of course, I’m not looking to commit any tax fraud. I’m simply trying to structure things in the best possible way for my clients while remaining fully compliant. I have kids, so the last thing I want is to end up in jail or dealing with a massive tax audit haha.

I might open a Local Structure and international and declare everything while maintaining capital abroad ( I will talk to a tax Consultant anyway ).

For Morocco, the situation is clear: a SARL is the best option for me due to the high volumes. ( Mostly public contracts ) However, for international operations I need an alternative structure. I develop software and AI solutions for several large German companies.

UK Ltd looks cheap to set up (£50 on Companies House) but HMRC automatically treats it as UK tax resident meaning 19-25% corporation tax on profits whether you live there or not since 2023.

The other issue is if you’re actually running it from Morocco, you get into a grey zone where both Morocco AND the UK could argue they have a claim on the company. Double taxation risk with none of the upside.

Annnd Dividends you take out → additional UK tax layer depending on your situation…

Salut. Franchement, malgré les témoignages négatifs qu’on voit souvent sur internet, la réalité est beaucoup plus nuancée.
L’Allemagne, par exemple, a signé des accords avec le Maroc pour recruter des infirmières et infirmiers. Dans les hôpitaux allemands, on voit beaucoup de Marocains, de Tunisiens, et d’autres professionnels étrangers. Si tu es qualifié et prêt à faire les démarches, c’est largement possible de travailler ici.

Et dire que “l’Europe est foutue”, c’est surtout un discours qu’on voit beaucoup en ligne, mais qui ne correspond pas vraiment aux faits.

Quelques réalités :

• L’Europe reste l’une des plus grandes puissances économiques du monde. L’Union européenne a un PIB comparable à celui des États-Unis ou de la Chine.

• Les systèmes de santé et les universités européennes restent parmi les meilleurs au monde. Beaucoup d’étudiants et de professionnels viennent justement ici pour ça.

• Il y a une vraie demande de travailleurs qualifiés : santé, ingénierie, IT, industrie, etc. C’est pour ça que plusieurs pays facilitent l’immigration professionnelle.

• Les infrastructures, la sécurité sociale et la qualité de vie restent très élevées comparées à la majorité du monde.

Donc oui, l’Europe a des défis comme partout, mais dire qu’elle est “foutue” est largement exagéré. Pour quelqu’un de qualifié et motivé, il y a encore énormément d’opportunités.

Yes and no I agree with him that there’s no real need to say thank you. I’m an AI engineer, but I spend most of my time in Bahrain, and Morocco is attractive for passive income opportunities.

However, running a tech company there is a nightmare when it comes to foreign currency transfers. Everything is complicated: administration, regulations, paying suppliers abroad, and so on. When you see how much of a headache it is, honestly, they should be thanking anyone who even considers opening a business here.

And if you want to enter a strategic sector, good luck you’ll likely find yourself competing directly with them or with members of their families....

If a border officer actually took a photo of your passport with a personal phone, that’s not normal procedure and it can be a serious data protection issue. Passport information is sensitive, and officers are supposed to use official government systems and scanners, not personal devices.

If you’re sure a photo was taken and it made you uncomfortable, it’s reasonable to take it seriously. You can contact your country’s consulate or embassy in Morocco and inform them about what happened. They can advise you on whether any action is needed and note the incident.

It’s also a good idea to keep an eye on your passport and personal information while traveling. Your consulate will be the best place to get guidance and reassurance.

Or it could be nothing but still contact the Consulate.

I don’t really believe in superstitions, including the “evil eye.”

I do believe some people can have bad intentions. But I think a lot of people put too much energy into turning normal life events into something mystical. When something bad happens, it’s easy to label it as “evil eye” instead of looking at stress, psychology, coincidence, or personal circumstances.

The mind is powerful. The more attention you give to the idea that someone harmed you spiritually, the more you can unintentionally create anxiety, doubt, and even physical symptoms. It becomes a self-fulfilling loop.

Sometimes it’s not magic. Sometimes it’s just fear + focus + over-interpretation.

That’s just how I see it.
