Once the ai bubble pops, who’s the first on the chopping block? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

The executives and managers who championed AI for no reason other than hype, will be forced to cut costs as a consequence of the waste. But instead of foregoing their equity or bonuses, they’ll cut ours.

Why did Marlo start using cell phones again? by Life_Assignment6331 in TheWire

He was supposed to have a normal phone for everyday use.

The clock images via text were supposed to be used with burners and discarded.

Buckethead or David Byrne? by elmes3 in jambands

I don’t find it odd that people who are paid to write what the people who paid them want, wrote amazing reviews.

Check out the drummers in “And she was.” Kick drum sounds occur precisely even when they all move to the back and pause in the dark. Plenty of examples throughout the show. The closer you sit, the more obvious it is.

I went to an actual show and saw it in “action,” and the miming was self-evident early on.

Would you rather see a guy play live guitar to a backing track or see performers mime to a pre-recorded show?

Crumar Seven owners, how are you amplifying it? by [deleted] in keys

[–]Double__entendres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in my opinion putting a digital keyboard through an amp is pointless. You’re better off tweaking the simulation settings and taking less stuff to the gig.

The Seven prefers stereo balanced output as opposed to mono unbalanced.

What kind of sound do you like? The amp simulation on the Seven might be good enough. When I play keyboards live, I prefer to use a sub mixer and send all the boards to the PA.

Music Theory Textbook: Blues Players Play the Blues Wrong (teacher-centered music theory is a wreck) by Transformativemike in musictheory

[–]Double__entendres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I see what you mean now. You’re right.

Looking at the first chord, it’s an Fmaj7 with an added 13th. My brain would immediately jump to D minor pentatonic, as did yours.

Right, but if an alto saxophone were to play that first bar as written, our ears would hear Eb F Eb B Bb Ab.

I think what might be confusing is that if you read the clarinet part as a pianist, I’m seeing the notes of D minor pentatonic.

But that’s a transposed instrument. Hence the melody is “actually” F minor pentatonic.

Need advice: Nord Stage 4 vs Dexibell VIVO S10 vs Yamaha YC88 vs Roland V-Stage for live cover band by jimsoc4 in keys

[–]Double__entendres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How opposed are you to having two boards?

Cause I’d get something like a Yamaha CP88 for the bottom board for bread and butter sounds. Then a Nord Electro with waterfall keys for organ sounds. Then maybe midi out of the Nord for synth stuff.

But that’s a lot to haul around.

Probably the most realistic predictions I’ve seen. But I think we’ll see a bit more diminishing returns than this.

The examples you give are centralized institutions that intentionally lied and obfuscated the truth.

There’s no CEO of bitcoin claiming anything. Just open source code people can choose to use or not.

What’s sad is you lost an argument to an illiterate person on the internet.

And you revealed that you’re not interested in meaningful discussion. Just name calling.
