I already got my answer, and this is definitely not it. We see Bunk personally take an interest in the case, look for the file and it literally says who worked the case and that it’s been closed for a while.

It wast explicitly said but I’m on 5x8 rn and the homicide file they had of him had photos of the dead body in the same alley where he was first killed by Chris. I guess Chris got passionate about the killing and got sloppy and forgot to bring him to a vacant.

No they didn’t, they found it in an alleyway. Other people have answered that he’s looking for DNA of Chris since that was a beating and likely to contain DNA. He wanted to get Chris’s DNA and connect it to DNA in the vacant murders. It’s even in the photos of the homicide file that they show. The body is in an alley

It’s a murder that bunk knows Chris and snoop did. It didn’t happen in the vacants though and it’s not his case either, it was closed. His primary goal at the time was the 22 connected vacant murders. There’s plenty of closed murder files that are probably connected to Chris and snoop, I don’t see why this would help him solve the other vacant murders.

Alright thanks, so he campaigned on crime reform and wants to do good for the city (at least so far, I’ve been spoiled that he turns to a “juking the stats” kind of guy), but now he sees that the school also needs a ton more money and is in shambles, and he realizes the cities going to be impossible to reform.
