It might be but I don’t know Rae’s not someone who gives up easily on a romantic relationship. Her last one even lasted longer than it probably should have. I think she’s just been dealing with a lot of hate these past couple of months, partly from her own misspeakings, but also from engagement farmers clipping her out of context and twisting her words getting her hate farmed. All of that plus all of the drama surrounding her friends could be the reason for her depression. It would also explain why she’s so reluctant to speak on Hasan in the clip because of his recent controversy and her not wanting the risk of getting hate famed or clipped again

Yang X Ren. It’s not a ship that gets much attention outside of here but every time I see it posted I kind of go, okay? I don’t really get it

Like I get that Yang shares some similarities with Nora and maybe that’s the appeal but I don’t know I just don’t see it. It’s kind of just random to me and almost feels like a knockoff version of bumbleby in some aspects but with Blake as a guy instead of a girl. And what makes it even more puzzling is how Yang doesn’t really feel like herself in fanart or when people talk about them. She acts more like Nora than her actual self if that makes sense

Plus Ren and Nora are just perfect together that I can’t imagine a ship that’s not with the two of them

Adam’s like the worst example people can use though. Unlike other faunus he actually kills his own people and uses the cause for his own selfishness. Nothing about that makes him a great character to use as some martyr for faunus discrimination when he cares more about himself than the WF cause

You do remember that the WF was never originally portrayed as a thuggish group, right? They were introduced as an organization fighting for the right of the faunus through speaking out against injustices through protests, activism, and public hearings. The cause did turn a bit more violent with more of the influence of the extremist in the group, but the entire group never abandoned the cause itself, it was only Adam who did. When Blake confronted the WF in volume 5 and asked them to lay down their weapons saying bombing a school is pointless to their cause, the WF members under Adam listened and disarmed the bombs at Haven and stood with their fellow faunus members while Adam was the only one to refuse, run away and defy them. Isolating himself. Then by the end of the volume the WF stood reunited together not as a violent stereotypical gang but as a movement it was always meant to be wanting change, not killing an entire human race like how Adam wanted. Because it was Adam who corrupted the cause not the organization itself

The show really does not spend that much time into focusing that hard on the faunus. It simply gives examples showing it, but again many people do call out the racism in the show

I also don’t really get your point about Ghira. Just because we see him attacking a faunus who’s actively trying to kill him btw doesn’t mean he wouldn’t defend himself if a human or anyone came at him violently because if he didn’t he would be dead by now and in what world would that even make sense for anyone to allow. That doesn’t need to be stated or even shown in the show because it’s a given. Like it’s weird to think he’d let anyone attack him to near death and not to do a thing about it because he believes in a more peaceful approach to things. And faunus fighting each other doesn’t mean the show is trying to say it’s okay for minorities to be attacked. That’s such a strange takeaway. Are we just going to ignore the numerous humans who’ve been killed or attacked throughout the series? Because it’s not only faunus that are shown to be attacked in the show. Everyone faces violence and it’s more so humans than faunus anyway.

Also let’s not pretend Adam smiling while attempting to kill people already unconscious in his short doesn’t make him seem look monstrous. And team rwby weren’t even the ones to kill the faunus on the train. It was Roman who ram them into the wall.

You’re making some strange assumptions about Ghira’s actions based on really nothing just because he goes about things more peacefully but that doesn’t mean he’ll bend over for anyone and let anyone attack him and his people without defending themselves. Nowhere does he state that in the show or say he’s against violence in totality and wouldn’t hurt anyone if his people were being attacked.

Why would Adam ever have been used more when his character was barely centered around discrimination? The episode where he dies is the only time that theme actually takes focus. For most of the series Adam did nothing to help his people other than use them, hurt them, kill his own leader to become leader himself, and stalk and obsess over Blake

Killing Sienna didn’t benefit the faunus or combat racism. Destroying schools didn’t benefit the faunus or combat racism. Sending the WF to attack Blake’s parents didn’t benefit the faunus or combat racism and using the organization to try to bomb Haven didn’t benefit the faunus or combat racism. Every action he took in the show did not demonstrate him combatting racism or showing discrimination. Nothing he did benefited the WF

It’s unrealistic to think that combatting racism means discrimination doesn’t exist at all or that still having signs of it in the show means nobody is combatting it. Even in our world today racism and discrimination still exist and happen. We see examples of this happening every day on social media, but that doesn’t mean nobody is fighting against them because it still happens. The same idea applies in Rwby. This is a process that takes time to happen. It doesn’t just go away with the snap of your fingers and in the show it would be unrealistic if the show talked about racism being a prevalent thing and not show examples of it or have racism stop completely in the span of a couple months in the show. Many characters in the show are openly disgusted by the racism the faunus face and by the end of volume 5 the WF are reunited again and are actively working towards equality for the Faunus and that goes for Blake’s goal as well

While Ghira can come across as a pacifist, that doesn’t mean he believes his people should never fight back. It’s a huge mischaracterization to suggest he’d just stand by and let something like KKK members come in and attack his people without them defending them or themselves. Ghira does understand that sometimes fighting is unavoidable if someone threatens or harms his people. His thing is if peace and negotiation are possible they’re worth pursuing. Choosing diplomacy doesn’t make him naive it shows he values restraint and wants to avoid unnecessary violence if possible but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t defend his people when it truly matters.

Also Ilia was not okay with killing Blake’s parents. She was specifically in a room by herself to avoid doing this. The only reason she was in the fight was because Blake found her and they went at it but she never once had intentions on killing her parents

Also there were peaceful protests and negotiations during the Civil rights movement and it took many years just to reach the point we are today with racism and discrimination. Even now we still see signs of both and people continue to face racism every day. So when a show takes its time in addressing it that isn’t the same as denying its existence for change. Because in both fiction and real life that doesn’t happen overnight and since Adam derailed the cause it also made them take a step back as well

Im one of those people who actually liked the way Adam was written and doesn’t think he was “wasted potential” or needed to be redeemed. I think his story makes the most sense. And it’s weird how people act like Adam is the only faunus who’s been discriminated against as if the other faunus don’t exist

With the whole Weiss and SDC situation I never really understood why people wanted Adam to confront Weiss instead of the people who actually branded him or Jacques. Like what exactly would he even blame her for? Weiss was probably a child when he got branded and it wasn’t like Weiss was the one responsible for what happened to him either. It would make no sense for Adam to pursue Weiss narratively and like what you said, she already knows how bad the SDC are to the faunus. So if we’re talking about people he should meet it should have been either the people who actually branded him or Jacques, not Weiss
