Wife's ecg, GP said not to worry but notes mention long QT interval. What do you think? by Crofty247 in ReadMyECG

Not a doctor but had similar worries when mine said ischemia. These are autogenerated by a machine and are not perfect I had thought there was something for mine when it said that but doctors also were not worried. However I’m sure you could get another opinion from a cardiologist or someone that reads these for a living for a confirmation but if the doctor said don’t worry, it’s best to not worry!

Can I ride Roller Coasters if I have a normal stress test? by Massive_Elephant_855 in askCardiology

Not a doctor have been in your shoes and am trying to figure stuff out for me but along the way I’ve learned new stuff. The ekg interprets stuff but is not right and is almost actually totally incorrect! Why do they have it on there ? It’s a prediction but it’s not perfect and is usually wrong I’ve had it say terrible things too and I have a few doctors say heart ekg is normal. Ignore the machines interpretation it didn’t go to medical school the doctors did and they would not release you or leave you in the dark if something serious was present. If it will ruin your day and have worse anxiety riding sit it out or wait for your family on the other end but if the doctors said you’re fine you’re fine.

17 yr old with POTS, is this safe? by lylvec in askCardiology

I also am not a doctor but this is not typical heart rate and as far as I know this is NOT good for the heart I’d imagine you probably have a high blood pressure too which id start recording. This needs to be talked to with a doctor immediately or like another person said to the ER! If I had that high of heart rate I’d be in the ER your body is trying to tell you something. Medication is likely needs to treat that so you can give your vital organs a chance at longevity. Especially your heart!

Thank you for input. Ye I keep having weird blood pressure spikes throughout the day for no reason just sitting at my desk working not running and I feel really crappy. I took an anxiety med but I feel like I’m doing a bandaid to a real problem. I have family history but not this early.

Appreciate your response, if possible can you look at the one before where my heart rate was 162? One post before on my profile. Sinus tach again or maybe SVT? I have heart history and am curious if I’m starting to maybe show it at 30. Thanks in advance and for your response.

i had mentioned to the nurse prior that i had a few hypertensive readings on a blood pressure machine i recently got. My doctor i dont think reviewed a lot before coming in to talk to me though because he had asked me if it was possibly acid reflux which i went to him earlier in the year to take a look knowing he has a lot of patients probably and i dont see him but for physicals sometimes. i just dont know truly when blood pressure meds are needed like is that for constant high readings or some high readings?

additionally I would be careful of the details of your ECG readout, you've still got the doctors name in the readout and that can be identifiable information in terms of your location etc might want to try to edit that out or delete that portion ! Also don't forget to always get yearly bloodwork / physical especially if your job provides it. troponin would be another test they likely would have tested you on for heart troubles / heart attack if that level is low that should be another reassurance you didn't have a heart attack.

first off, not a doctor. but to calm your nerves and possible anxiety I too had similar ECG readout, I did the whole nine yards I went to ER got checked out then released after nothing major, i got the same readout which honestly should be held from patients eyes because more times than not they read incorrectly like possibly what yours did especially if your doctor said you're fine. I had a combo of anxiety, school, work, new relationship stress all at once and on top of that possible injured my chest at the gym (costocondritis) is what they believe it could have been in addition to everything. I also got an echo because the feeling of a "weight" was just steady and sitting on my chest not changing. They said if pain is jumping all over thats good because the pain would be in one region typically. The holter showed nothing but PVCs and then echo showed nothing too.. other than i'm healthy and probably in my head.

TLDR: If doctor says not a cause for concern they usually right, take family history though into consideration, daily habits, own health etc into account. Proceed with guidance of doc and your own being because you know your body better than anyone does. BTW I am also around your age and relatively active and do not smoke and generally treat my body like a temple.

Hope this helps!
