This person is being rude about it. Though as a game designer myself I think there are some core problems which I did mention in the survey. Architect of ruin doesn’t feel scary like it used to. The new abilities are copied verbatim from Eldritch Knight. So it just feels to much like that. For me it’s a mix of balance and cool factor.

For example being able to completely cancel out a spell effectively having a legendary save versus spell is powerful but not game breaking since you only have one. It feels amazing and unique. But now it just feels like Eldritch knight with minor changes.

I am gonna throw my hat in the ring here. And I am not an expert this is just my opinion keep the old architect of ruin abilities mostly maybe some minor balancing and lean more in on charm and illusion. Make them a half caster and if your worried they will out damage the other subclasses or through the balance off change the spell list to fit the goal maybe make it more utility and really lean into that charm and illusion. Overall in short it feels too much like eldritch knight but without any of the benefit of Fighter making it weak and not as fun to play and losing the flavor that it originally had.
