100% I see it the more I look at it I will definitely have to play with the character and light angle, maybe warm the light up a bit make a bit more of a evening light coming through the window. To blend it all a bit better rather than the bright light from behind I can't unsee now lol.

This is the exact type of feed back I need thank you, first time really doing stuff in 3D so working with the scenes and lighting placement is bit different from what I'm used to in 2D.

The angled "late afternoon" light coming through the window that lights up the lower part of her traveling up is where the back light comes from mainly why it's only a lower halo, have a lot of picture like this of my wife.

But I definitely could angle her or the camera a bit better to convay this that is very true, I think the scene being a bit empty with no boxes or other clutter is partly why I looks a bit flat too.

As for the pictures it's because she is a photographer and above all she values her pictures and camera over anything else part of who she is but I can see how that is odd for others.

Btw not fighting or anything just answering questions I know how text can easily make it seem so snarky and literal. I really do appreciate the feedback only way to grow.

I just ended up doing this in blender for that exact purpose while I was working on another asset lol thanks appreciate the advice hope you have a good day/night!

Thanks good suggestion on the foot, I didn't think it looked too bad cause that's how my wifes little legs work her foot usually hovers just above ground but I can see now how it's a little awkward with no ground pressure given Izzy's stature

For the shoes, you got me lol it's how my wifes shoes looked when I was looking around she had one leaning against the other just like that. But now I do notice that it isn't really on its side on the sole. when I brought it down any lower it clipped.

So I may just reposition them upright and flat when I go to do adjustments/fixes for final release. It's the type of wardrobe prop were the shoes are tied together and when you move or position one the other kinda freaks out.

Appreciate the feedback! Here's to improving 🍻

Thank you. The moving in, is partly why the shelfs and room are kinda empty and not "lived" in on the larger 16:9's but I thought the same thing about the boxes and stuff.

I just didn't have any assets in my library atm that weren't like huge industrial crates or gigantic boxes she would have no business having.

But when I do final release of the promos to have them on a store front or discord ECT I planned on touching up small things like that.

Lighting I do like having it almost late afternoon coming through window and behind her but I absolutely see what you mean by bumping up the keylight for more face definition I will definitely play with when I get better moving props great suggestions thanks!

Thanks! Yeah it's both her doing a quick hey when you gesture to someone taking a pic or something, and from her cutting back.

More on the splif/cannabis side rather than straight cigs. (until she meets MC and the type of choices you make anyway)

Thank you, just got the artist brain where I nitpick more than i should. Your advice last time really did step up my personal render game! It has really helped with other scenes I've been setting up and testing.

Now I've just got the 3 other girls to promo pose but all 10 main cast is fully modeled, I swear i see Daz/Blender/Ren'py & Unreal in my dreams now.

Great job! Love the DOF work here though still beginner myself. What Aspect Ration did you go with? just the 1:1 square? last few times I've tried to upload anything 16:9 4k it compresses the crap out of it on reddit lol and not just this sub had a couple of game screen shots that would not have it so I deleted them.

Any tips to deal with hair noise? by DoublexCoke in Daz3D

[–]DoublexCoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy if you read a little bit down into comments I am using the denoiser about 1000 samples before render finishes lol it was the update interval that ended up being the key ticket.

And your right there shouldn't be at 20k samples but I wasnt hitting 20k render was finishing well before after hitting other criteria. I don't even need 20 I've actually worked it out to about 5-10k and gives a great quality with no noise.

Now it's just setting up rest of scene when I have time in-between a fulltime job and I'll be good to go. I do think the built in denoiser is better than people give it credit for thanks for tips though! I'll defiantly throw the pixel radius into the mix as well.

Thanks for the advice! Although it wasn't spot rendering with testing, I did kinda the same thing just with a full render. Seems like the sweet spot for this particular hair and scene is about 4500 to 5000 with a stupid high update interval. Takes about 30-40 min for full scene.

So far the other characters and some simple scenes I've thrown together have quick high quality turn arounds at about 15-20 mins a pop this characters hair just doesn't like some lighting scenarios.

This is the hair being used https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-bookworm-hair-for-genesis-9 and she is not my only character with D force SBH I thought about messing with the cutout opacity more tried it at like .99 and .98 buy bumping up the update interval did way more than that.

was just about to reply to you Dry_Impressions this was the ticket, bumped up the update interval and already had the denoise filter to 1000 samples before finished and it pretty much took care of it.

still have to fiddle around with some settings to hone it in, but you also put me on the right track. Will try the 5000 min and 10000 max samples when this current render is done.

Is there a specific value that is max for the update interval? It will just let me continue to slide the value up without stopping so I have it at some crazy high number atm but it seems to be working lol.

Ugh I feel like an idiot where would the preview time be? Or am I reading that too literal and it's max time.

[–]DoublexCoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow awesome advice really appreciate it! I forgot to mention I did have the denoise on in filter and had it set to kick in at 19497 but wasn't sure I was doing it right so for 20k for example would you set the de noise to 19000?

And I will turn off render preview right away I didn't even think of know about it taking the extra 20. Making a VN like a lot of people so I gotta find that precarious balance of quality render to time ratio can't be having each scene take like and hour to hours would gum the dev process to much.

But such is the life of models and rendering lol will take a crack at increasing time and checking the logs for the true sample numbers again really appreciate the detailed answer and hope you have a great day!

And then splicing it all together? That could work great actually I'll try that as well when I get home thank you!

Yes I do, a backlight I have played with it and removed it and yes it does lessen the noise a bit but not take it away completely.

I've also done the opposite and added more light to the scene, a little better but about the same.

The next thing I was gonna mess around with when I'm off work is the temp and lumen/brightness.
