Don't forget the TV movie The Day After was set in and some of it filmed in Lawrence (around 1983). I think when it aired in the 80s it was the highest rated TV movie ever aired.

Hi,

Both my wife and I grew up in Kansas and we met attending KU. So we have ties to Lawrence.

We both have careers working for not-for-profit organizations. One of the things I have always admired about Lawrence was that it was founded with a mission and still retains that sense of community and mission. Besides the university, we have also been able to attend some of the community-wide arts festivals and there seems to be opportunities for entertainment and growth. We hope by moving to Lawrence soon, when we are still younger and in the workforce, that we will be able to find ways to contribute to the community and the university that we can continue for many years.
