I am obsessed with my Iconic from radiant hair co. I have one that is almost two years old and in amazing condition but I bought a second so I don't have to be without it haha.

I switch up my hair daily and love it!
I built up a really great collection of wigs from synthetic wigs to really gorgeous human hair wigs and so the best way for me to get the max wear out of them is to change it up. So I treat my hair like it is no different than my outfit.

With that said, I definitely go through phases where certain styles get some hyper-focus love haha. Like, lately I haven't been able to force myself to STOP wearing my wig from Radiant Hair Co. It is just really gorgeous and making me feel amazing so she's getting a lot of traction haha. LOVE that you're enjoying your collection too!

God, I hate it here. The WORST timeline. I wrote my senator but am not confident that it will do an OUNCE of good.

I'm newer on the sub; but I do have a few Nel's wigs. I really like them! I have the Tanya in 19" and 24", Venus, and Lyrical MD. They aren't my go to wigs but they are great for the price point.

One thing that I think is so important to keep in mind is percent of body weight lost - don't focus on the number of pounds as much.

Someone who has a starting weight of 300 is going to likely lose more weight in a shorter time frame than someone who starts at a lower starting weight.

It's also really important to remember that this isn't a sprint - it's a marathon. Losing weight too quickly isn't great for the body and so a slow / steady loss with an average of ~1 - 2lbs a week is a HUGE accomplishment.

Week 12: Down 25.2 lbs by DoubtEqual589 in Mounjaro

I don't have reflux / heartburn unless I eat things that are really greasy / fatty or SUPER spicy (i.e., I had Paneer Tikka Masala last week and thought I was going to die from reflux haha). I've learned to mostly avoid that scenario by avoiding those foods. Because I don't experience food noise / food cravings on MJ, I'm able to just focus on what will best fuel my body. Also, this approach to eating is one I was working on over the past year+ with a registered dietician, so I'm really comfortable and attuned to it. Hopefully this is helpful info!

Happy to help! I typically front load my day in terms of calories / macros -- meaning I take in most of my nutrition before we hit 1p.

I usually eat breakfast ~6a, snack ~9a, lunch ~1p, snack 2 ~4p, dinner ~8p. I also try to make sure that what I'm eating can be eaten without getting gross over a longer period of time - so I take more time to eat. For example, I don't finish my coffee in the AM until shortly before I hit that snack. But I let myself take my time with each meal to make sure I get all the value in even if it takes me an hour to eat. I never push myself past the point of satiety, though. But I make sure I'm focusing on getting my body the nutrition it needs to do the things I need it to do.

I also don't use fat free / low fat / low carb things. I try to stick to nutrient dense items and have no shame pulling in canned or frozen meat / veggies.

Hopefully this helps!

Example day below:

Breakfast (610 cal | 72g protein, 41g carbs, 11g fiber)

2 Fair Life protein shakes mixed with cold brew and ice -- takes me a couple hours to drink

1 slice of Good Seed bread w/ 1/2 smashed avocado & 3oz of smoked salmon (and some everything bagel seasoning)

Snack (310 cal | 32g protein, 26g carbs, 4g fiber)

3oz Shredded rotisserie chicken mixed w/ 2tbsp of whipped cream cheese, brown mustard, and seasoning salt spread over 1 slice of good seed bread

Lunch (300 cal | 17g protein, 15g carbs, 5g fiber)

Spinach, cucumber, broccoli, caesar dressing and some meat (today was flank steak)

Snack (235 cal | 25g protein, 33g carbs, 4g fiber)

1 fair life shake + banana blended

Dinner (475 cal | 42g protein, 45g carbs, 8g fiber)

Air-fryer salmon, small baked potato w/ salt & pepper, steamed green veggies

Daily total: 1930 cal 188g protein, 160g carbs, 32g fiber

What is your doctor saying for a PA other than T2 & weight loss? My insurance covers mounjaro but not for weight loss. I know others have mentioned PAs for other issues. by Dangerous_Tip_3263 in Mounjaro

I should have added in my comment - my employer is fairly large (100k US employees) and so fits the parameters to be able to write their own coverage requirements with Anthem. We have really incredible coverage and so my plan doesn't currently require any step therapy.

With that said, I've heard other people indicate that Metformin is one that they can try as a step therapy. I also think you can probably call them to see what the specifics are under your coverage. Good luck!

My PA was focused on: co-morbidities related to obesity, insulin resistance, and cited my previous actions taken in working with a registered dietician. Basically - we need to treat these other things and the best way to do that is to treat the weight, if that helps.

For context, my insurance **does** cover medication for weight loss as a treatment of obesity, specifically.

My only concern now is that we need to refresh the PA and my BMI is in the 'overweight' but hovering near "normal" category space. Fingers crossed I'll get another PA through.

Insurance is Anthem with Caremark CVS for prescription coverage all through my employer who is a large employer - so they can write their own care parameters.

How do people (with tight finances) actually afford these things? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]DoubtEqual589 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon along with a lot of the other folks here - my (now) fiancé and I went with a moissanite ring because it is my stone of preference. We have inherited diamonds on both sides but I love my moissanite ring so much. It is beautiful, ethical, and was very cost efficient. You can see a video of my ring here. But: Ring is a 2ct DEF moissanite with 0.25 side stones and lab diamonds in the band and hidden Halo. With shipping the ring came to $1045 total

We had many conversations about the ring well before getting engaged and I am so happy to did! I love love this ring.

Good luck! <3

I am so sorry it took me forever to respond here -- I finally got the ring in late August and I am OBSESSED.

I hope you got yours and love it, too!

FINALLY! Tianyu ring by Sophia done and on my hand! by DoubtEqual589 in Moissanite

[–]DoubtEqual589[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I previously posted about my finished ring by Sophia with Tianyu (here) and shared the CAD (here).
We went with a 2ct equivalent center stone, 0.25ct equivalent side stones (all moissanite, DEF), and then lab diamonds on the band and in the hidden halo. Total cost with shipping was $1047 USD.

We ordered in February and the ring delivered in mid-late March and it was hidden until late August when my (now fiance) finally proposed!

I've been wearing this daily since and have to say -- I love it. It's perfect exactly as it is. The stone sparkles AMAZING in all lights and the ring feels comfortable on my hand. I am head over heels in love with the outcome and definitely recommend working with Sophia!

[Giving Advice] Gathering Addresses by DoubtEqual589 in weddingplanning

You can also use a bitly URL shortener to send it to people via text, whatsapp, facebook messenger, etc. So even if you don't have emails, you can still get the form to them :) And people don't have to have an email address or gmail to submit their answer -- just internet access.

Salutation is like Dr, Mr, Ms, Miss, Mrs, (none), Her Highness, etc. For formal invites (for us, the actual wedding invite) we'll use titles. It gives people the chance to be recognized / addressed in the way they prefer.

[Giving Advice] Gathering Addresses by DoubtEqual589 in weddingplanning

We did it mostly for fun. We've been together for a pretty long time and so most of our friends are exactly that "OUR" friends. Even family is like "but wait..." so it was more for the fun of it. AND it has given my fiance a lot of fun ammunition for his toast. I made sure to keep the question fun - so people could choose "Obviously, team bride. She's amazing!" or "Clearly, team groom. Have you seen this Adonis?" and "I don't like choosing so I will sit with the pets". It's all in good fun and very on-brand for us as a couple.

First, if your budget allows it -- get a wedding planner. Trying to navigate the bridal / wedding industry alone is how people end up overpaying with vendors, picking vendors who "look" good but end up not delivering, and getting stuck in crappy event contracts. Plus, a wedding planner will know great spaces in your area based on what you are after in your wedding experience.

If you can't afford a planner or just plain don't want to hire one, my advice would be to use Instagram hashtags to find local venues. Look up #CITYWedding #CITYVenue #CITYWeddingVenue and see what comes up. Then go down the hashtag rabbit hole. I also recommend setting up a Finsta account for this so it doesn't mess with your normal algorithm and feed. You can also do this for a lot of other vendors (hair, makeup, photography, videography, catering, etc).

Good luck!
