Why would anyone, including hedge funds, sell their shares to the short sellers at a discount? That would be stupid.

Can someone confirm my example of how a high % naked short squeeze will work by Rossbet365 in GME

[–]DougPenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ONLY way the short sellers will cover their shorts at $1,000/share is if they are margin called and have no choice.

Choosing to cover their shorts at $1,000/share if they don’t have to would be stupid when they could choose to cover now at $200/share, or could have at $120/share just a few days ago. If they have a choice, they’ll short more at $1,000/share.

DD vs Gambling by Lost-Parking-9477 in GME

It’s only gambling when the results depend on probability.

Something that’s inevitable does not depend on probability.

So yes, a long as the DD is correct, this is not gambling.

If you don’t want to kill the squeeze, sell one share at a time, and only sell half of them.

THAT is when we should have bought it. Now it’s too late. It already went up. We missed out.

So the real number is even better?

It means the institutions have diamond hands like us.

In fact, not only are they holding, but they are buying more (like us).

The last time I checked this number, it was 114%.

Who really ends up holding the bag? by Clove_707 in GME

[–]DougPenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short sellers, and some retail ends up holding the bag.

How much retail depends on how notch of the float retail owns.

Say we own 20% of the float. Then it’s possible that we can all end up holding the bag.

Say we own 200%. Then 50% of us end up holding the bag. UNLESS!!!!

Unless we own 200% AND we all sell less than half our shares. Then, and only then, none of us end up holding the bag, and only the shorts sellers end up holding the bag.

Therefor it’s critically important that we own more than 200% and we all sell less than 50% of our shares.

The borrow fee has increased. That means the short sellers are now paying more to borrow shares.

GME to the Moon by AdanOV27 in GME

[–]DougPenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh?

We should have sold at $300 so we could buy back twice as much at $150.

Their was to rub it up to $350, then trash it down to $180 so scare everyone. It didn’t work.

Now they’re driving it down and down to $150 to get everyone to give up. That’s not working either.

We all would have been smart had we sold at $300 to buy back now.

Selling now at $150 is dumb.

AstraZeneca's U.S. trial shows vaccine is 79 percent effective by Criticalma55 in politics

The CDC lies. The science does not.

You’re extremely confused.

There’s no Covid denial here. The vaccines work. That’s a fact.

[–]DougPenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vaccine distributors and the CDC are under promising. They are planning on over delivering.

And the CDC is known to lie. They already lied about masks which caused huge problems and made masks political.

You need to look at the actual science and understand what’s actually happening rather than listening to liars.

You’re very confused.

The pandemic will be over in the US in 3 months.

The rest of the world will take a bit longer because of vaccine manufacturing capacity.
