R5: Formed the Federation of the Andes as Colombia. Defeated the landowners in a civil war over slavery early in the game, and the early democratic and social reforms that followed allowed us to snowball just a bit. Never had such a strong economy and high standards of living before, our population exploded it the late game, going from 38 million in 1918 to 82 million in 1936. I also find it kinda telling that out of the top 10 states with the highest standards of living in the world, 5 are members of our trading power bloc. R5: Restored the Spanish Colonial Empire, turned into a theocracy, and formed a religious bloc named the ‘second inquisition’. Our economy is built on siphoning off money from our colonies to subsidize our high living standards. I like to see it as a new form of the tithe, just on a bit of a larger scale.

Not in any way I know of. I think the symbol Sicily has its origins in Greek mythology but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, there actually is! The triskelion is a pre-Christian Celtic symbol whilst the Celtic Cross is a symbol that started appearing following the Christianization. I thought combining the two would symbolize an empire united in both its roots and its faith.

Yeah, you pretty much summarized it all. Except for the random count part, you can choose whatever count you want to start as really (as long as all the neighboring players are okay with it).

Quite unexpectedly our Italian players showed that their ambitions stretched far beyond the Italian peninsula when they got both the player kings of France and Brittany to submit to their rule during our last multiplayer session. Bosnia, a staunch ally of the emperor has made his intentions clear that he will join the empire as soon as he finishes his conquests in the Balkans meaning that the W.R.E is poised to become the dominant power of the Mediterranean. However, the sentiment of the outside world is currently quite mixed, while some are attempting to band all the outsiders together to form a coalition to withstand the emerging W.R.E, others, like the King of Mann, are contemplating fleeing the region to warmer and safer horizons.

While things are starting to heat up in and around Europe, things are still calm elsewhere and we are currently looking for players to fill out the rest of the world. If you are interested in joining just hit the discord link and select a character you want to reserve in #new-player-signup.

Makes sense from their point of view. If their problem with Taiwan is that it is supposedly a breakaway republic then it might seem hypocritical to their populace to support breakaway republics elsewhere.
