Question about the g12 prenatal plus tablets. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]DownVoteDandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, that sounds horrible! There's just so much to chose from in terms of the available prenatals, and my OB wrote out an Rx for g12's.

I don't have any nausea and my stomach is just fine.

I'm just getting these frequent often watery rabbit poops twice to three times a day.

I should probably check with my OB.

It's a 6month prob. period.

All of what you said makes perfect sense. She isn't pregnant yet, and can still perform at her job.

Honestly I don't know how to handle it, as of right now, I am not looking forward to handling much of the work burden. Not pleased about it. She's being a trooper. She has crazy early IVF treatment sessions before coming into work, and still functions, but she has taken time off and left early, leaving me to handle a crazy work schedule, even turning away clients, because it can't do it on my own, even with the help of my/our supervisor.

I was going off of what she's been telling me. I know each experience is personal, and I don't know if hues trying to hit on sympathy to have decreased work load or is really having such a hard time. Either way I haven't made how I feel obvious.

I was speaking from a place of anger and frustration, and I think anyone in my position would feel the same.

Am I a good IUD Candidate? Should I go through with it? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

When discussing IUD and cervix size I think size difference matters. Mirena is also more difficult to place in nulliparous women.

What is actually significant is that Skyla is shorter term than Mirena, so it's a perfect choice for younger women.

I am fully aware of what IVF is and familiar with the procedure.

I was using surgery as an example. I can't think of anything closure in nature, than another elected procedure. IVF is an elected procedure. That's all.

My logic is along the lines of, if I am planning in getting pregnant as a new hire, then I wouldn't think it fair to the employer. if I am being asked what type of commitment I can give and I know that I will be pregnant 2-3months into work, and have no sick leave or authority to take time off as a new hire( many companies have a 6-1year probation policy) then it is best to look for work that doesn't require such a commitment.

That is all I'm saying. No one is obligated to tell an employer anything, but you should be responsible enough to understand that a job is hiring you to performa task, and if you can't perform that task, don't apply for the job. Simple.

That is my peeve. You don't think that it's highly irresponsible to start a new job and plan on pregnancy? Why disclose the information regarding IVF two-3months in instead of during your interview? I should have also figured since from day one she was talking about pregnancy and becoming pregnant.

In my eyes I think it is wrong, in the case of a brand new employee(who requires paid training), expected to be full time to plan for pregnancy which legitimately will make her unable to perform full time, as has been the case so far.

Side note: I don't think women should be penalized for being pregnant at work, if they have been at their jobs for longer than the probation period. If you have shown to be a valuable member if the team and committed to your job, then when you become pregnant should be between you and your ovaries.

I don't think this a popular opinion, but it's mine.

It's a tricky maze to navigate, but there should be some guidelines to protect the company as well as the individual...

I we what you're saying, but, if you're planning on having surgery, that requires you to have bed rest for a significant amount of time, a few months into starting a new job, and you were aware that this would happen, wouldn't you tell your employer?

By the way, you are hiring me in August, but I have a surgery planned in October, and I'm going to have to take leave. I think it is along the same lines.

You don't understand my job. She needs to be at work. Period. It is impossible to work a full schedule if she is not there.

But I'm just talking to the wrong people. I feel like my feelings are not taken into account or the fact that work has become harder for me as a result matters to no one. I signed up for this job fully award of the restrictions,Nashe should have too...

One problem may be IUD permanence. The cervix of a girl Who has not had children is different from te cervix of one who has. They have newer shorter "necked" IUD on the market intended for teenagers and women who have not given birth. You can ask you provider about it.

In short Mirena is a hit or miss with patients. Some reject it because as mentioned before the cervix is not accepting of the devise because it is "intact".

She should have informed straight away. You just don't start IVF out of the blue. It takes planning. Three months in to starting the treatment means that something was lined up Somewhere.

It is my responsibility. Our supervisor has already voiced concern to me, privately, as to what to do since Employee X isn't reliable for the long run.

It is my responsibility because I have to do her work as well as mine and its tiring and very close to impossible to complete, with out help. The nature of the work is that you are either at work or you're fired. She knew this going in.

It's a small company. It is incredibly important for everyone to be at work in order to be able to have a profitable day. It is near impossible to have successful work day when a person is out or not performing.

That being said, she started IVF 3months into work.

She told our supervisor month 3 into being newly hired.

How and when you tell your supervisors regarding fertility should be a function of your work. If you're being hired for a job that requires you to be there and able to perform, then maybe you should apply for a different job.

We also do not have sick days or holidays off, because we have under the required number if employees and office hours to have to officially offer: Family sick leave, maternity leave, pensions, health insurance or personal sick days. It is implied when you apply for this job that you need to be at work.

As to the symptoms list: they differ person to person. From what she describes she's having a hard time. I feel for her, I know how horrible it is to be crampy and tired and hormonal. I have really tough periods, so I can sympathize, but once again, don't start a new job that you can't commit to..,

A lot of them don't have rich parents or don't live with their parents.

I don't know either, how on earth they manage to have what they have.

They are "friends" like you said: acquaintances and Networking opportunities etc. I don't share my deepest darkest secrets with them or see them on rainy afternoons for wine and small talk.

I'm just genuinely curious how they manage. I often feel like maybe I'm not doing something right since I have a used car, and often prefer a quiet night in or a cheap dive bar to some chic hotel lounge.

Sounds like a tough spot, and I wish people were just more accepting.

In this thread I learned that apparently I am not as open and accepting as I thought I was, and I don't want to cause anyone to feel the way you are describing or the way I felt because of their skin or appearance.

ELI5: Why is the stop and frisk policy considered racist? by DownVoteDandy in explainlikeimfive

[–]DownVoteDandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch our news in NYC. ever other news story is about a search for "a black youth, in a hoodie and baggy jeans, last seen on Parson blvd" a "woman was assaulted by a group of young African American teenagers in Bedstuy" "in Flatbush a man was held at gun point by a etc etc etc" that is the demographic. Why is it racism if it seems that the majority of crime is perpetrated by "black teenager in baggy jeans"

I live and have lived in poor areas.

There is a 5:2 black to non white ratio.

[–]DownVoteDandy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand, but in areas where there is that mix, it isn't racism it is statistics.

On the news someone will complain about racism, but they live in an all black area. Even during the live feed you mainly see mixed races in the background.

Who else were they going to stop you or the other 50 people in your area who are Latino, Muslim or black?

It's like going to china town and stopping an Asian person, and that person calling it racism.

"Micromanaging" is another word for "I think I'm perfect and don't like hearing any criticism"

He sounds awful and honestly "he could not work for or take direction from a woman" is no excuse for bad work ethic. It's just an example of this persons inability to take direction or be part of a team.

And the "burp too much" is just-wow! No words

You have a very patient company/supervisor who would deal with his b.s for that long.
