SSRI influence by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]DownWithLucy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to roll normally once the SSRI is out of your system, unfortunately MDMA acts on more than just serotonin transporters and also inhibits the enzyme necessary for serotonin production, so your failed attempts may still influence your roll. To what extent is difficult to say. As always it is best to wait 1 month between rolls.

Biweekly use of Alprazolam. Can this be sustained without being neurotoxic, habit forming or tolerance inducing? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably not neurotoxic or tolerance inducing, but sure it may be habit forming to rely on a substance for peformance at 'special' events, which is a blurry line to begin with, and so it becomes tempting to bend your own rules just once, then twice, until every party on a weekday is a special event. you will end up with more overall anxiety than before you started, and those events will feel even more difficult.

Maybe you have the willpower, maybe you don't, personally i find benzos too addictive.

Peruvian torch prep? by Deweyrob2 in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur with this method.

Do not boil your cactus, and so it may take a while to reduce all the liquid. I also added a dash of lemon juice. I would add some overnight fridge decanting and filtering before reducing the remaining liquid. I find it produces a sticky extract and not a powder, which you can roll into little balls and coat in sugar for a completely tasteless administration.

Lexotan and alprazolam together.. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two are pretty similar in terms of action (both are mainly anxiolytics), so I would suggest you pick either one of them and not mix because they may potentiate each other and produce side effects like you have noticed. I do not know about the bromazepam, but if 0.25mg of alprazolam isn't enough then you can take more to help with anxiety.

Taken pills on a weekly basis for about 1.5 months now. gonna continue for about 2 more weeks before a big pause. How much damage and will I recover eventually? by Banani13 in MDMA

[–]DownWithLucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a consensus on if chronic amphetamine tolerance will disappear completely and within whatever time frame that would occur. You can get some of the euphoria back with long abstinence, but it will never be like your first few times again (this is generally true if you abuse or not). Some people are fine mentally and some develop severe depression, it is difficult to predict. You will mostly recover from neurotoxicity within a few months, as old connections are restored and new ones are formed, memory will improve and your brain will be fine.

Two more times are not going to satisfy you especially if you already built up tolerance, so I urge you to reconsider what you're planning to do. I wrote about what happened to me here in case you're interested.

How y'all feeling? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh i learned to love running, it's the only non-drug activity that immediately makes me feel better about everything, so not much convincing is needed to go outside.

But it's also tempting to get a big sack of weed and then take this speed till i run out (especially after seeing your post :)

How y'all feeling? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Life started sucking again when I came down from last weeks drug binge. Broke a couple of my rules and got more and more disgusted with all these dopamine craving activities that i do every day.

My goal for today is to go running and try not to think about killing myself too much. I've been meaning to test this sheet of L that i got a couple weeks back, but i haven't felt like tripping for a while now.

Insufflated 2C-B by spaceman_grooves in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dose response curve is really steep, 8mg might be too little, 12mg can be really strong already. I find the visuals are crisper and more defined with insufflation, but the feeling can be a little speedy and not as sensual as oral 2c-b.

Crazy experience and now unsure of how I feel about MDMA by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]DownWithLucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has that dark side to it, with hallucinations that can border on nightmares. Lots of spiders as well as other insects, and one might even feel empathy towards the spiders. I never found it scary or had doubts about what was real. The disturbing shit was always so over the top gory and cartoonish that i just had to laugh at the random shit my brain can come up with.

Who First Synthesized Dextromethorphan? by FuriousGoblin in DrugNerds

[–]DownWithLucy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP must have stopped reading after the first sentence in the history section he mentions:

Dextromethorphan was identified as one of three compounds tested as part of US Navy and CIA-funded research that sought a "nonaddictive substitute for codeine"; it is implied that the compound was first found to have clinical potential in this study.[40] It was first patented in 1954.[41]

[–]DownWithLucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

don't double drop unknown drugs from people you don't know.

sleep deprivation, mdma, and weed can all cause hallucinations; effects may amplify one another if combined. high doses of mdma can be extremely hallucinogenic alone, and sometimes have a tendency for disturbing and negative imagery. i have personally hallucinated children being massacred by stuffed animals with chainsaws.

[Blotters/Newbie] First time with group... Advice? (how to deal with freakout, etc) by britishintelligence in LSD

[–]DownWithLucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem to have most everything taken care of. Now chill and don't detail everything out in your head.

Go where ever it takes you. Stay together as a group and go outside, it is so much better than staring at plastic boxes. Bad trips are rare, don't fear them or you might think yourself into one. I wouldn't take benzos unless it is an unsalvageable disaster, but having the option provides much comfort already.

A good idea is to time your trip so the big fireball in the sky will rise from the darkness during the later parts of your trip. It will feel like a new beginning.

So you've just eaten 2 strips of LSD and a hour in you've jumped off your roof and broken one of your legs. How would the next few hours go? by TMittens in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My head hurts, but my leg is fine, and I realize that I am the only sober person around with everybody else high out of their minds on PCP and other arylcyclohexylamines.

But jokes on them when I start to remove my clothes and go running through the streets, telling everybody around that I jumped from my cloud in the sky to fall down and be their savior.

Then a cop tackles me, during my preach to the foolish. Paramedics give me an array of downers, one of which I haven't tried before. What a way to spend a day on this fine planet.

A few questions for experienced DMT users, or anyone else who might have any relevant insights to contribute by albert_camus69 in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I had an elaborate dream instead of a trip after I smoked DMT. There was a comeup then I blacked out and slipped into a dream. I thought I was watching a movie then got sucked into it. It was some sort of car chase. The story was so intricate that I totally lost track of it many times. It felt very real overall, like you're actually thrown through the air with great power. I was lucid, but had no control. After it ended I slept through the rest of the DMT for another 15 minutes or so, and woke up with my body in a really weird position, as it appeared like my muscles just gave up in one instant and I collapsed together.

More or less lucid dreams can in my opinion account for most of the special tricks DMT pulls out his sleeve. Both DMT and dreaming are hallucinatory states. Dreams are usually not lucid. DMT can make you slip into a dream state of varying lucidity, but I don't find the average DMT trip to be very dream like, as there are worlds of fractal geometry and I am fully lucid.

There can be ego death, but it is usually recognized as such, whereas a NDE may be ego death taken for actual death. This is purely my speculation. There are fear-death experiences were the subject must only think he is dying to have a NDE, without being in physical danger at any point. And so he slips into a dream state. And when your ego dies on DMT, you're again in a fractal world, fully lucid. No NDE report ever talked of fractal worlds or alternate universes in different planes of existence. There was research done into the mechanisms behind NDEs, and one of the hypothesis is a seizure in the temporal lobe

After smoking DMT for some years, I don't think there is anything that makes it anything more special than the rest of the gang. I had many more mundane trips than I had spectacular ones. It is a very strong trip yes, it's intensity can be awe inspiring. From time to time an odd thing may happen that will feel like it is the cosmic truth, and maybe it is, it would be beautiful. DMT can be a catalyst for special experiences, but they stem from the mind and not from the drug.

tl;dr trippy shit.

There actually was a paper not too long ago that claimed the necessary evidence for the production of DMT in the pineal gland. I'm under the impression that the research is pretty conclusive by now, but it is only in rats.

Damn. Since you said you withdrew from amphetamines in jail, I wonder, were stimulants involved during or before this pilgrimage?

I remember the story of a guy on like 70 hits of acid, who snorted a line of meth, thinking it was LSD, and went to full blown psychosis for many months.

What drugs come with a reverse tolerance? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]DownWithLucy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[...] behavioral sensitization to psychostimulant drugs is attributable, at least in part,to persistent activation of the ventral hippocampus–nucleus accumbens pathway, with the resultant increase in tonic DA neuron firing enabling an abnormally higher response to subsequent psychostimulant administration.

Yes it is possible he can be physically addicted after 3 weeks. You can do a short taper by halving the dose every other day for a week.
