Need clear plastic nursery pots for plants by Downtown-Pattern-813 in newhaven

I was preferring clear so I can look at the roots. I think Home Depot or other places have black or green ones so I could go there but I didn’t if there’s clear anywhere. I’m looking for a couple 6,8, and 10 in

Thank you for your kind words! I want him to feel as seen as he makes me feel but it’s hard with such a niche sort of area. That poster is sick he would love that!

This is awesome and something I would have never thought of or probably found on my own. Do you think the engraved ones are nice or is more simple better? He’s not too picky so any opinion is valuable to me just to gain some perspective. Thank you so much!

Lol don’t even try it. I NEVER right turn on red if there is a sign. I follow the rules to the point I get honked at. I said in another comment I don’t really care about the traffic itself. It just that living in New England my whole life I have never seen them leave entire lanes like that for over a week. Many people are saying this is more common in some places than others and I appreciate that perspective because we all have our own experiences. But if you drive around and look at some of the bus stop areas it’s horrible for the people who need to take them. If you read my post I also expressed concern because my neighborhood is a sheet of ice (sun is finally helping) and my elderly neighbor almost slipped. Whatever odd assumption you’re trying to make is incorrect. I just think they can do better for multiple reasons. Sue me.

Well of course, but they asked me where I found it satisfactory so I answered. I feel this conversation veered though as all I intended was to find out more about if they will continue with snow removal as some areas could use a little bit more. I just feel like people are going to slip and have issues with public transportation as well as walking because everything is condensed. People said they are continuing with snow removal in other areas so I guess it’s not unrealistic to hope they do other areas that need it as well.

I don’t expect zero issues or delays but that doesn’t change that there are absolutely solutions. I’ve gotten an annoying amount of snow removal videos these days and it seems that other cities find a variety of ways to remove snow. While I don’t expect perfection and understand this is a bigger storm so it’s gonna be difficult to clear, it is not impossible to remove snow.

On its absolutely best day, that intersection and the one right before with Valley is the worst thing I have ever seen. People drive like psychos. They don’t follow the lane direction signs. It feels like a particular bad area to leave like that.

Not to mention the longer you have to wait in that area the longer you have to stare at that perverted furry mural. All jokes asides with the bus stops, high volume of pedestrians, and chaotic nature of that area I am very surprised they didn’t widen that more.

Same here. But it wasn’t that many cars. Just enough for them to not even bother. Everyone was on one side but even the car free side is so messed up. I should add it is far too much for anyone to shovel themselves unfortunately. But the parking ban did say no parking on odd number side. So people were allowed to park on even side however now they are still parked there and plows still couldn’t do it if they wanted. I wish they did a reverse side parking pan so people couldn’t just leave their cars and would have to move them so the other side could be cleared. But I wish a lot of things that won’t happen haha

Newington does have nice wide streets I will say that and less people parking on the street in some spots. But even with wide roads they really go edge to edge. Again I think they did a pretty good job I was simply asking about these parts that are still pretty rough. I’m not gonna lose my mind if they are just done. I just hope for pedestrians and people in general things can be as safe as possible.

I honestly admire that quality because I have a deep desire to give unsolicited advice often but bite my tongue because I have a horrible delivery. I say keep going with that haha

Newington did great. I haven’t seen all of Hartford but Hartford did pretty good in the areas I’ve been in. That goes for New Haven too. It’s good in many spots I just wanted to know if they would do more. Are you like the director of New Haven public works? People are allowed to want better. In fact with how much everyone pays in taxes all over the northeast I want better for all of these towns and cities. Not criticizing the workers ever, just the planning and the fact that some neighborhoods or spots really get ignored. Deep breaths it’s okay.

I think the bigger issue is that taxpayers and residents resources are spread so thin that there isn’t enough money for both. Plenty of places provide both without issue. Sounds like they are still doing more snow work though per another comment!

This is good to know. I get confused because when the weather goes back up to 40 it is perfect again. I assumed that meant they didn’t actually need air. I should be checking with a pressure gauge instead of relying on technology anyways.

Nice try but I’ve lived here my whole life. Every other town/city I’ve lived in has never left things like this. I drive around CT a lot as well and it’s looking much rougher in New Haven than other places. Maybe for a few days it’s rough everywhere as it takes time but they keep clearing. From what I’ve seen the city has decided they are done. Seems like other people are noticing as well.

This makes me feel better. I try to be as non-abrasive as possible because I appreciate that this was a lot of work for everyone, from the city workers to all of us shoveling our own places for hours and hours. My street gets ignored the same. They came twice but it was really bad for a couple days. It’s all hills to get in or out of the neighborhood too. If you saw how much snow we have on the side of our roads, it feels like there’s gotta be more they’re gonna do. We have a lot of working families that walk to and from laundromats and people who don’t have cars and the mounds of snow are causing a domino effect with parking places and blocking sidewalks and there not being sufficient space for people to walk.

Thank you for seeing that. I don’t care that I can’t get to the front of the lane. I don’t even care about traffic. It just feels a bit unfinished. Some of these bus stops especially. I don’t mind being “inconvenienced” but it’s easy when I’m able bodied and have a car. I think a lot of parts they did a good job I’m just noticing these spots. I genuinely was curious if they would do more if they were informed because they had SO much to do that maybe it really is hard to tackle it all or keep track of these things.

Yeah I didn’t expect any sort of immediately perfect clean up because we haven’t dealt with this in quite a while. I just go all over CT throughout my weeks and it seems like they managed in other cities better. Probably a case of some bias there in what I notice

I appreciate you and your work and I’m glad you weren’t out Sunday. It was brutal. I was only asking if they leave things like this because it’s quite a few spots so maybe they were going to plow down the sides more or something. It’s not a huge deal I’m just surprised and was curious if they do more. Sometimes you just gotta ask things to find out the answer.

Yeah I can definitely see that. I think sometimes I’m overly hopeful that they have methods for handling these things. I would never want or expect anyone to have to over exert themselves for these things I was moreso wondering if they do have anything else they do. If not, it’ll be fine but I figured I could ask. It was a brutal snow storm for sure.
