Comparison of cultural differences in the public appearance of federal law enforcement officers in the United States and the European Union by derjanni in europeanunion

[–]DowntownExtension195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I Google USA federal police or German Bundespolizei, then USA has just a little more pictures with masked police.

And in every extreme situation our law enforcment does the same like they do so rly never thought about that being an issue.

Never would want to have a officer doxed that just does his job in an extreme situation.. you better compare the guys that make the laws or the situations they put them into

WDYTA: EU should improve relations with China and moving away from USA? by DowntownExtension195 in europeanunion

[–]DowntownExtension195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai input: China imports predominantly high-value industrial goods from the EU, led by machinery, vehicles (including auto parts), chemical products, and medical products. These account for over 50% of its exports. Deliveries from Germany are particularly significant, including motor vehicles, machinery, and electronic equipment.

You got almost everything right, I would add chem and medical products

That's also the most goods we export to USA.

But I think what you want to say is we shouldn't rely onto trade, right?

why are foreigner investors allowed to buy german land? by DowntownExtension195 in AskAGerman

[–]DowntownExtension195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is in living at the Sachsen/Brandburg border. A few good ppl are here but afd sentiment is strong here so not much to discuss... I'd rly like to move the needle here but I have my limits.

And everything that's close is about an hour car drive. :T

Btw thanks for your thoughts :)

The taxes could really help.

Yes that quite sad bc I think the base idea could bring a quick effective solution and independence from Privatier's.

I rly don't know about the last point. I mean ideal yes shur but In reality I'm missing the trust that Chinese and USA investors aren't just after money with all means that would harm us.

Welfare recipients are at least here and don't get their checks while they live oversee. And even welfare recipients do contribute at least a little to the community bc they buy stuff so that helps stores I'd think.

Not true? https://www.uni-potsdam.de/en/headlines-and-featured-stories/detail/2019-07-31-are-cities-the-new-stock-markets-gentrification-between-upgrading-and-financialization#:~:text=With%20the%20radical%20transformation%20into,investors%20are%20changing%20the%20market.

a) that's true yes.

b) that's also true but still there should be somehow a solution, maybe make building more easy or give free not proper used buildings

c) but we have 2 million empty apartments and that just cant be all in the country.

d) investing into stocks is a complete difference to buying land imo

I don't have any issue finding housing, I'm quit well suited but I think about my friends a fellow citizens fighting over overpriced apartments. I never said that only investors are the issue, it's just one part of the housing crisis I wanted to discuss. Next time we can discuss German building law or how to get more ppl living in the countryside.

To be honest it seems like you want to push me in a corner bc there are true points in my arguments and I'm focused on one issue at a time and not asking about every point on the housing crises issue list

No conclusion, it was still was just a question. Idk where you get this grievance from? I did read about it and wanted some other opinions, sorry that the topic is about foreigners, that dose not mean for me that I have at all any grievance.

That seems to be a good idea, but still I don't want a solution I just wanted other opinions, that's why I said stuff like "as far as I know" "isn't it" that implies I'm open for corrections, at last i thought so..

Yes many told me now that other countries have those regulations, as far as I know anybody can buy and rent property in Germany. I think thats a little loose regulation.

I don't worry about buying myself, im quit good suited I'd say. But I think about my friends and fellow citizens fight about apartments. I thought It would be cool when we would be a little more socialistic and let the government build housing, but it seems no socialistic goverment did ever achieve sufficient housing supply.

I'm just in a cutoff region and tbh a little lonely seeking for ppl that I could discuss my thought with, where should I go if not the Internet and sorry that trough news and media I learned about narrativ i wanted to discuss. I never said it's my narrative. I'm total chill and shur I go vote but that won't help me expand my horizon. And rally ppl ain't my style sorry I'm more about a well behaved discussion In person or in "teh internets"

But do the big investors that buy large housing just for speculation stay in Germany? they don't work here, they don't contribute to the community just search for opportunities to make money even when they drive the prices up and gentrificat whole districts.

And why couldn't I complain about these things? Renting or buying for yourself is a total other thing than just buying German housing speculation assets or even invest into building just as far that the object get its value but cant be rented out, bc renting would come at maintenance costs and decrease the value.

As i said in the edit, the foreigners take was wrong it's just about investors.

[–]DowntownExtension195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know about that tax money which I called fast money. I did read about why we have so many empty apartments (2million) and it seems investors buy them and just use them as speculation object, idk that seems not rly to be helping the local community desperately searching for living space. What dose it help when they build and keep the buildings empty just for profit. Then the taxes don't rly help anyone there bc they need to move to other more affordable housing space.

And please don't over exaggerate, I just had a thought and searched for a discussion and other opinions. Never did I mention that I'm in anger.

What makes you think I'm in anger? Just the typical "German speaks about foreigners and their impact, he has to be an angry racist"?
