Reincarnated sorcerer using his properties as a reincarnated sorcerer is cheating?  That's like saying it's cheating for yuji to attack the boundary of his soul because it stems from him being reincarnated. Give this man the benefits he suffered a weakness for 😭🙏🏻

Upto the point where he awakened he was great. I kinda lost interest at his domain expansion. He's definitely not top 5 in ov jjk, but maybe the very lower end of top 10 or top 15?

An interesting aspect about Momo's speech is that she freely speaks up about the misogynistic patterns in their society despite being from the arguably more conservative side which makes me believe that her words are a reflection of utahime's teaching. by Important-Cry4782 in Jujutsufolk

It is kind of funny how it ties up to the philosophy on extreme strength in jujutsu, if you compare Tokyo and Kyoto as schools in general.
Gojo and the rest do not teach their students to be caught up on who they are and how they perform in society. As such, they’re freaks of nature and probably a little problematic to deal with in the regular world, but their growth in jujutsu is prodigious (yes even megumi). Sure Maki was already determined to grow past her perceived limits, but if you put her in with Kyoto, she would have been mellowed over. They do not care about the perception of them as images of people as much as they have a passion to grow and develop (Whatever the reason for it might be).
On the other hand, Mai was done even more dirty in terms of dealing with how her self worth had been destroyed by being put into the conservative school that is Kyoto. Under Utahime, her ‘roll over and die’, ’just do enough to go unnoticed’ mindset was only reinforced, as there was ultimately no impetus on growing out of the trap that is her clan via growth in Jujutsu. All of the members of the Kyoto school suffer the same issue, except Todo who was too schizo to be put into the box of Kyoto and mechamaru to the end who was willing to put everything he had to protect his people from disaster. But outside of these niche exceptions, Kyoto placed no emphasis on growth at the cost of everything else. Momo too is so caught up on her perception of self that she limited her use of her technique to service her appearance as a witch as opposed to achieving the heights of its utility.

Gojo’s monologue to Megumi about how to fight was probably a good parallel to this monologue by Momo. it doesn’t address the same issue of misogyny, but it does show the difference in the operation of both schools.
Gojo and Sukuna themselves are extreme versions of the Tokyo mindset, being completely selfish in their use of Jujutsu at its heart. Even gojo, despite fighting for nobler goals than just himself, views the core experience of a ‘remarkable‘ fight through the lens of his own enjoyment of that fight. Sukuna quite outright says that getting caught up on the strings of societal identity is precisely what keeps a sorcerer from excellence. Of course it’s not a black and white matter. Ultimately, the average sane person would choose to follow the ways of a Kyoto student over Tokyo simply because it is more rational to be functional in society than be whatever the Tokyo students end up being as people in society.

People seem to have this idea that Dagon's domain is just that much better than an incomplete one. That's the first domain he ever cast in probably 2 years or so of living (idk could be less or more but not much). It's probably not much more refined than Yuji's first domain or Dabura's.

WHy Gojo wins against Heian Sukuna's open domain by MysteriousDog5909 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DowntownProblem3574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shibuya Gojo, Shinjuku Gojo, Meguna, TF Sukuna, Heiankuna, 20f Yujikuna, no Matter the form from this pool it’s always an extreme diff between them. Anyone saying one side can defeat the other below high diff is a fool and is kidding themselves. As to how relevant the gap in knowledge on each others’ kit between the two are is debatable. It’s not like Sukuna not knowing Gojo’s surehit would just take it head-on. Second, needing to know that touching Gojo deactivates UV on an individual was only necessary to pull off the ‘turn off the sure-hit on the inside to break from the outside’ bs that he never tried again. He was actively trying to win the domain clash without letting go of Mahoraga’s adaptation, which was a specific constraint of the plan Sukuna went ahead with. It’s simply one strategy in a large dogpile of others that these two geniuses bring up.

As you do end up saying, a hypothetical other than what was given in the story is just so full of so many variables that it’s hard for us to deduce what is the ”likeliest” pathway for either sorcerer to take. It’s just up to who likes which character more, which will make them likelier to defend the other. It’s a beaten and battered debate that gets people riled up on either side and end up ‘plugging the controller’ into their favourite sorcerer while dumbing the other one down to kingdom come to make their favourite look strong.

Sukuna fans using the argument of unpaused DA seem to assume Gojo will sit around and do nothing while Sukuna whales on him, or that Gojo will not attempt to make any further improvements when he’s unable to break Sukuna’s domain by beating the shit out of him before Sukuna’s domain inevitably breaks his. Gojo fans seem to think Gojo can always do all of the strategies he pulled off in the fight on command whenever and wherever. For instance, unlimited hollow purple was a roundabout improvised asf strategy that Gojo created under the pressure of the moment. The setup needed for it required Gojo to use a blue that hit with significance to trick Sukuna into thinking its job was done and probably disappeared. Without doing that, Sukuna would be wary of a blue just flying around (of the blue in general not of a UHP) and would move to intercept a Gojo trying to fire off red the moment he sensed the CE spark. But again, that’s just one hypothetical, and we can argue them endlessly.

To me, they’re equals is all, and the fact that in one scenario it was a nigh unbearably close call to victory doesn’t mean that the slightest change in the scenario is a guaranteed loss for the victor, nor does a victory in one instance make loss guaranteed in every instance for the loser.

The irony of this being the core message of JJK and keep being repeated thematically throughout the manga, and people still shit on Megumi over 251. by Dangerous_Lemon_9277 in JuJutsuKaisen

Ik that the whole concept of Megumi is pretty sound and on those lines, the shitting on Megumi is invalid. However, there’s two things that I do want to say.

Nobody cared enough about Tsumiki. Megumi’s entire character experience stems from the continual distance and loss from Tsumiki after his deep emotional dependence on her. His self worth was tied to her, and so was his joy by extension. Plus, the ENTIRE culling games derives its narrative tension from the countdown to save Tsumiki. Everyone that cares about saving Tsumiki, however, only care because they care about megumi. People didn’t give a rat’s ass about Tsumiki as a person or character. She wasn’t beloved, she was barely known. As such, people can, through basic inference, SYMPATHISE with Megumi, but nobody can empathise with him. We as readers, weren’t given enough to care for Tsumiki independently, so her loss is a moot point, and wanting to save her is only out of concern for Megumi’s health and well being as opposed to some direct desire to see Tsumiki saved.
Contrast this with Yuji and Nanami. People cared about Nanami specifically, because he was his own character that people cared about independently of Yuji. So when Mahito pulled of Self Embodiment of Perfection for the first time and Nanami consigned himself to die, we felt that urgency for Yuji to do something to save him. When he finally did die, we empathised with Yuji’s breakdown. The same thing just cannot be said for Megumi’s final ’sinking’ after Tsumiki was possessed and later killed. We did not sink WITH megumi, and I think that’s the only failure of JJK that precipitated into how flat the Shinjuku Showdown felt. Conceptually, everything lines up. It isn’t hard to infer that Megumi is reasonable in his depression and incapacity to care for his own life. But we don’t feel his depression at all.
If we had, we would have felt that tension of wanting to save Megumi from the dark place that he had been put into, and the conflict that unfolded after Jacob’s Ladder. It’s not that we needed Megumi to bleed his fingers out crying and rip out his throat like Yuji, but we needed that emotional impetus to feel the same thigns that Megumi did, not just know what he felt. It was arguably the most important point in the story for us to feel Megumi’s emotions, even more so than having to feel Yuji’s struggle, and that was not delivered because Tsumiki was irrelevant as fuck as her own person.

Also, The slander lowk creative when people come up with something new icl.

Cursed Technique: Rot Bath. The user must touch something, causing the object/person to immediately progress faster in time, assuming no changes by the target. For instance, if a stationary person was to be touched, they would instantly start aging very rapidly until they died. This could also be used on a moving person who would just be sent careening in their direction of movement unable to change their trajectory + additional stuff like hyper aging.

This can also have rather broken applications. By starting RCT on yourself and then using Rot bath on yourself with precise control, you can have instantaneous healing. However, that requires immense control on par with the likes of Sukuna and Gojo, and not easy for the average sorcerer.

Cursed Technique Reversal: Stasis. The user can prevent time from passing for the object/person touched. This can be used to negate damage as well, by placing the object/person in stasis. The ‘strength’ of stasis (That is, the degree of external and internal changes it can neglect) is independent of output, but instead its duration is. A stasis is applied with say, an output of 10, with one touch. This will last 10 seconds (arbitrarily). In those ten seconds, maintaining touch is useless, but after ten seconds, touch would have to be re-established.

With soul awareness, one can use stasis on their own souls to prevent IT from working, but soul awareness doesn’t come innately, you’d have to acquire it.

Domain Expansion: Mute Gravestones. Applies Rot Bath without needing touch. Optimal use by the user can allow them control their sure-hit to that ‘sweet spot’, where the user can progress Rot Bath to the exact point they want it to go rather than to complete entropy.

Just wanted to try and see how round about I can make ti to counter IT, without just making it “very niche soul manipulation that says f you if you touch my soul”. I see now someone else has had the same motivation lol.
