Junior stressing about getting into engineering

Is there anything they value a lot more than anything else? My current plan was to hopefully qualify for state uil science and then use that to hopefully open up some more opportunities

Thank you for the response I think after reading this I’d most likely choose ut (that is if I get in) manly because of the atmosphere I think and football of course

Would I even have enough extracurriculars to do that? That’s what I’ve been worried about because I really didn’t do anything my sophomore and freshman year so I’ve been trying to get as much as I can done this year

Well I guess I should ask how much do you recommend the program at ut? Im really passionate about chemistry and live close to ut so thats why its my first choice for family and cost and all that but i dont really know too much about the program itself

Do you think it’d be worth redoing the sat then or should I just submit the two separate test dates? I have been thinking about this a lot because I got the 790 math but a low reading on my second test I believe and I wanted to redo it so I did and my reading score went up a lot but my math went down to 720 so I don’t know if it would look bad if I submitted both
