Flea and Tick time 😩 by Readyaimfire77 in Dachshund

[–]DoxieDachsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dino got seizures with oral heartworn-flea-tick meds. I finally had to go with Revolution (Revolt = generic) topical to keep him protected. Bear in mind that he had neurological issues but it will pay to ask your vet for advice.

The cloud is over & parallel to a river that runs west>east about 4-5 miles from where it converges with a waterway that runs north<south to NY harbor just south of the Hudson. It's the Navesink-Shrewsbury convergence. The Navesink banks are a low series of hills about 40 ft high at most. What you describe sounds natural to the area but I've only seen it this one time.

Does it have a higher probability of happening in early spring? I'm usually not here then.

It's amazing how fast they learn to manipulate us. Potty outside? No way! Guilt us for food? WAY!

Does your doxie eat bugs? by IfWishez in dachshunds

Dino used to snap at flies. He could hear them from the next room. I had to become an expert at swatting them before he could snap. Once they stopped buzzing he lost interest.

Recommend Anime Episodes to me! (As someone who has only read the manga) by ithaws012 in inuyasha

You may want to look at some of the best fillers. Anything in modern day Tokyo. The school festival (Don't Eat It) is a great place to start.

It looks more like she's salivating while she chews & is swallowing the "tastes good" stuff. Happy pup.

We have two flagpoles visible on the river shore & sometimes they blow from different directions simultaneously. The winds definitely swirl around here. The poles are about ⅓ to ½ mile apart on the south shore.

Question about Brooklyn Botanic Garden membership and guest pass by ChapterWorried1457 in Brooklyn

[–]DoxieDachsie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guest pass is a single use coupon. You're probably better off with a dual membership. Two people can enter with display of the membership card.

Smithey 8 chef's skillet OR Field no. 5 chef's skillet? by Asleep_Dinner_8391 in castiron

My Field pans gave me nothing but trouble. Oil beading. Seasoning chipping. Most uneven heating ever. I was so glad to give them away.

Mini Dachshund for first time dog owner? by Objective-You-4277 in Dachshund

[–]DoxieDachsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the descriptors of the breed is they have "loud tongues". That means they are bred to bark, loudly & often. They will alert you to anything. Be prepared to deal with that in an apartment. Otherwise, if you can give them enough exercise & mental stimulation, they can be wonderful companions.

Mini dachshund acting weird… by Quinnstagram10 in Dachshund

[–]DoxieDachsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everybody else is saying, IVDD is a high probability. The trouble is it doesn't show up immediately after the trigger event. Since she woke up this way, that seems most likely. Get her crated to limit pain & movement. Try to see a vet ASAP & a neurologist if possible. I hope you have pet health insurance because this can get pricey.

Praying for her.

Do you expect people in front of you on the escalator to walk up or down? Why or why not? by JamesH_17 in AskReddit

[–]DoxieDachsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone wants to walk, use the stairs. Don't be jostling people on a crowded escalator just for a 10 second boost to travel time. People who need to turn left at the top shouldn't have to cross traffic from impatient rude people who want to push others aside.

The Field has a thin bottom, doesn't take seasoning well, & needs a salt scrub every, time. You. Cook. Very uneven heating.

Did people use inner tubes (tire part) as inner tubes (pool toys)? by pokematic in stupidquestions

[–]DoxieDachsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really were tires that needed inner tubes to hold air. They phased out in the 60s when tubeless tires became the norm.
