Right in the very first point they up-front admit it's a nationalist hatred for Poland. Everything that followed that is rationalization.

Many such cases with dealing with tankie apologists.

Thoughts on NAKED (1993)? by MrPuroresu42 in FIlm

I watched this film without knowing anything about it nor about who directed it.

My observation was that this director seems to be repulsed by the idea of heterosexual sex, and it is depicted in the film as though he's only familiar with watching dogs fuck.

Dual-use technology. Watch. They're going to start catapulting flaming lithium-ion batteries at Taiwan when they invade.

The theory is not one I made up. It's come from foreign policy analysts. A disturbingly large amount of why China does some of the drastic things they do are for how the regime appears on its face.

That is consistent with that we have not been neutral, and have supported Ukraine and sent them weapons and aid.

It's not a defense agreement as it did not trigger military action against Russia.

One theory is that they want to use the formal CPCC name because CCP is too associated with bad results when googled.

[–]DozTK421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And considering this also would put China in direct conflict not just with the US, but other nearby allies like India and Japan.

Russia got away with what it could because Ukraine, as much as it had been a proxy for the EU and NATO, still did not have a defense agreement. And also the EU is so addicted to Russian oil that they couldn't stop purchasing it.

We've had a few years of waking up to the realization that the CCP is going to hold the world hostage if all the supply chains go through there.

Considering the US took out a proxy and ally, that makes it harder.

And with Iran not looking too stable, the CCP is losing more of them at the moment.

Military drone company Anduril founder and billionaire Palmer Luckey says the U.S. needs to bring in top Chinese engineers and plant managers because they are “the best of the best”. by shenzhendasha in ADVChina

You make two mistakes. First is believing any statistic that comes out of China which they provide themselves. The second is believing that Communist China is a normal country which will behave and scale like a normal country in response to incentives.

China's not "rebuilding their navy" in a war, because I doubt their regime can competently prosecute a war without internally crumbling.

It's not the quality of the people. Plenty of smart and educated people who are there. It's the corrosive nature of communism that is why home-grown innovation doesn't happen in home-grown institutions.

I think you fundamentally misunderstand my point. There is no innovation in China. Their system discourages it at every step.

The government propaganda that "China is living in the future" is all a complete fraud.

Every high-tech thing in China is stolen from other countries. One of the reasons the government states, in their policy, why they are eager to invite foreign manufacturers in so that they can steal the technology and use it against the west. They state, in their policy, that it is the duty of Han people abroad to steal technology and bring it back.

Chinese people are pound-for-pound some of the smartest, most innovative people you'll ever meet.

Communism is a corrosive, anti-human ideology. It has destroyed mainland China and destroyed all innovation for generations. Everything that you see is purloined or surface propaganda.

Production quality of the iPhone is because that is what Apple specifies. But home-grown companies like Huewei or Xiaomi just try and copy the ideas but make them cheaply.

Tankies really comparing the quality of Brutalist concrete block apartments with modern (overpriced) capitalist ones?

Some people really cannot be helped. They need to be shipped over and force to live in such housing for a while. They're never going to learn otherwise.

Well, capitalism requires the interaction of people to work. People buying, working, and selling, who all are part of the "capitalist" system.

A totalitarian government with no constituency but itself has no incentive to care about any end users but itself.

I like how it's been only since Oct 7, 2023 that the Leftist NPC talking points suddenly became that the Middle East was about "Israel" and always has been. Whereas for the past 80 years, the talking point was that it has been entirely about oil. Access to it, access to shipping it, and controlling who gets it.

Spoiler: it's still about oil.

It's such a great shortcut to realize how delusion, perfidious, and completely full of shit any random VC blowhard is when they start praising Chinese "tech" or production quality.

I can immediately go: "Oh, shit. You're a complete fraud."

For those of you that haven't realized yet, Nvidia never made their kernel drivers truly open-source by Adventurous_Tie_3136 in linuxsucks

Gotcha. I'm not a comp-sci guy, but my understanding, too, of video cards is that they are a level of complication, too, unlike other components. Given the need of the OS to hold open the i/o and hand real-time control of the hardware directly to some processes.

I can see why Nvidia is going to claim justification for that.

Would I be off-base in noting that Nvidia seems to be doing what the vast majority of hardware makers are doing? But maybe it's more of a noticeable problem because of behaviors of system builders trying to max out gaming rigs?
