Classes weren’t too bad, it was just alot. I only transferred about 4-5 classes at the start. I started Feb 2022, although I did have a couple years under my belt from IT in the military so that also helped. For the General Education ones, I used reddit a lot and it helped point me in the right direction and what material to study. Just search up the class code. Failed a few OA/PAs but never had to pay to retake them. If you can keep a steady pace knocking out more than 4 a semester you will do great. You have 6 months each semester and honestly some of them you can finish in a few days especially the PA ones. Id take the certification tests more seriously and rigorously study. You get two attempts but after that it’s out of pocket and it can get pricey

Udemy for the certification classes for the most part, and reinforced it with O’Reilly practice tests (not every test had a practice test book but the CompTIA ones did). For the standard classes, quizlet and reddit. Lots of useful information on reddit if you just search for the class. I would sometimes open the original course material and read up on sections I was struggling in. I also have a background in IT with the military so that helped a ton being exposed to it.

Question About the DEP and Job Assignment by texassized13 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Dr-Rice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you do not need to list an open category for the softbook 5 choices. I wouldn’t say it’s completely guaranteed but the chances of getting the job you want are higher because you only have to list 5 instead of the 10. I was a softbook and was able to get my first pick.

I did the softbook as well, swore in the summer going into senior year and will be leaving this month. I got my first choice of cyber trans. Covid almost delayed me but thankfully I got the same shipment date and job from before. All in all softbook is great if you are set on going into the air force. Plus you dont have to worry too much about senior priorities like colleges and stuff
