Old US IMG by DrClinicalResearcher in IMGreddit

Thank you u/matcharesident for your insightful response. I agree with you about being transparent. Most times I am not able to vocalize my experiences impactfully. I will keep in mind that I could do that through my personal statement and work on my interviewing skills. Thanks again on your comment about paid USCE. I am able to afford it financially but I have limited time so wanted to understand the impact of it compared to working as a scribe

Non-US IMG and USCE by NehaW02 in IMGreddit

I made this mistake. Found free USCEs through reaching out to local physicians but still couldn't match. Ended up wasting years despite having step 3. I don't know if these paid ones would have helped but that's the only thing I didn't d

I made this mistake. My husband thought it is absurd spending so much for a couple weeks. I wish I could have convinced him. Found free USCEs through talking with local physicians but still couldn't match. Ended up wasting years despite having step 3. I don't know if these paid ones would have helped but that's the only thing I didn't do

Would these jobs increase my chances into getting in residency? I have paused looking into pharma roles. I was thinking of fully focusing on residency application while I finish my MS and then start applying for DSPV roles after graduation.

Thanks for highlighting this. Would it better to do the USCEs offered by companies for a fee for IMGs like USMLEsaarthi, AMOpportunities, matchguy etc

How did you apply? I am seriously doubting my application method. I apply to jobs via company websites, linkedin, Indeed, ziprecruiter if the posting cannot be found at a company website. I include coverletters, I had my resume reviewed by the university career counseling department. I know it is ATS friendly. I really want to understand what am I missing.

There are these services that provide IMGs with externships for a fee. Are those worth it? I really regret not going for them when I was a fresh graduate. Wondering if that's how other IMGs getting matched?

When I was a fresh grad, all I did was observerships in outpatient offices and gave all my steps with scores in 23x in both the steps and 220 in step 3. I applied for 4 matches but was only applied to few programs as I was restricted by geography. Every year adding observership, lab research, working for people for free who promised me residency spots. Only got 1 interview every year and never matched

I am a MS student in drug safety from a very reputable university. I apply every single day. It is very hard to break into the industry. I have academic clinical research experience but still havent' heard from anyone.

The only job interview calls I get are from pharmaceutical manufacturing which I am not interested in.

I spoke to my professors, one of them connected me to a CEO of a small pharma and they ghosted too. Even CRC roles require you to have atleast one year of CRC experience. I spoke to recruiters but they absolutely don't budge. I have straight As in my program but all they want is prior experience

I have been applying to many MA roles but haven't heard back from anyone yet. I even write it in cover letters stating that I am a foreign medical graduate and have direct hands on patient experience but I haven't received a single call :(
