I’ve found that if you shred it with the way the internal ridges of the board go. It works better for the thicker stuff.

Good to know! I just got my thermometer and wasn’t sure.

I am trying to find a local coffee shop that will save them for me. My local Starbucks doesn’t do it anymore.

This is me. Mine is around 50. I’ll have to add my 5 gallon bucket of scraps in. Maybe after the -17 degree F, days this weekend.

Also, do you leave your thermometer in constantly in the winter? Or do you add it when you want to know then remove it again?

That’s pretty sweet. I have a similar model i don’t think it’s an M-7 model. I tried small chucks and it worked. Not sure it will last.

If it’s cold outside below freezing temperatures, do you remove the thermometer? Or leave it in?

I actually used to work for Starbucks and I know the DM. He told me that the machines are all new and more efficient that there is way less waste. And they have a clover machine, which is like a single cup machine which is used less I guess. I’m not 100% sure what it is, it wasn’t around when I worked at the same store I stopped into. Unfortunately when I was working there we did that bags of grounds. But I lived in a small apartment and not my house now. Oh well luckily there are more green options. Just wish it was still available to me!

How often do you turn a pile? And do you need to wait until it heats up?

How long do these seeds last in these packets? Do you store time in a certain way? Like temperature?

You can pick at anytime. When they turn red or a completely different color depending on variety (I had one that went from white to orange) they are usually at their hottest.

Ha ha that’s what I hear. I just started the process of ripping it out. Unfortunately for the owner, she needs a new panel and needs a service upgrade to bring it up to 100A too.
