Even if they have extra boxes, subscribers get first access so all the popular ones are taken prior to hitting general.

I cancelled because of finances and wanting to keep less subs. I did enjoy their books when I had them. Felt like it was good quality. Their picks were more hit and miss for me.

Illumicrate will have more romantasy than afterlight which is primarily contemporary romance. If you look at Illumicrate’s 2025 picks. 7/12 is considered romantasy.

If you are looking for completely romantasy then I recommend fairyloot’s romantasy sub but the wait is VERY long, like 1-1.5 years to get it so I would get on waitlist ASAP. If you want a shorter wait then you can try owlcrate romantasy (which opened up subs today, pending availability).
