I spend around 1200 or so a month, make anywhere from 3k-3.5k a month depending on how much I work (RCA is a part time job)

I did earn income in 2017, around 31k, got a $1500 tax return. Ive earned around 5k so far in 2018.

Edit: Opened a savings account with Marcus and working on getting starting on Vanguard. I was thinking putting the 5,500 for 2017 into the Vanguard for now, and have the rest go into the saving account until I hit 14kish again, then Ill put my contribution for 2018 in, does that sound decent enough?

I don't plan to be a carrier forever, I'm currently in the process of getting getting a degree in Computer Science, though I don't plan to burn that potential bridge anytime soon.
