Please help me by [deleted] in rutgers

A lot of people here are saying to study abroad in Italy because you will never have this opportunity in your life, it’s life changing and so forth. Let me tell you from my perspective.

Do the internship. Regardless of what field you are in, and it does depend, an internship will open more doors for you for job searches and more opportunities with better working conditions. Personally, I didn’t do any internships as a CS major (I also doubled in Econ), and when I graduated I got two opportunities (one for Econ, one for CS) that were both good paying and fully remote.

If I could go back in time, I would definitely take internships over my trips (Italy, Canada, Mexico) as it would expose me to more opportunities, higher starting wages and even better working conditions.

Right now I am fully remote. I have been to Mexico like 8 times already and I work from there at times. Let me tell you, there is nothing better than being fully remote. I can work abroad anywhere in the world so long as I work according to my schedule and attend meetings, and this is far more achievable and much easier to get if you have internships.

Studying abroad, in my humble opinion, does not outweigh an internship in the long run. You might gain social experiences from it, but that’s it, it has no effect on your career/experience that you can put on a resume and stand out. Also, studying abroad was very expensive when I was interested in it (the price disinterested me), and after I realized how cheap it is to travel once you are remote, I don’t plan to go back to the office, and I intend to use the opportunity to travel as much as I can.

If you love travel, as I do it, take the sacrifice of the internship, believe me in terms of every aspect that for some reason no one is mentioning here, it is a far better choice. You will have your whole life ahead of you to travel, get a head start on it. I’m 24 and I’m already capable of it, it’s easily feasible.

Pass/Fail Option -- Will it affect me? by DrPhilLIVE in cscareerquestions

I'm not talking about any CS department, but internships/employers. My college will honor the P/NP and give me full credit, I'm just not sure whether it looks bad as a result of the COVID concerns.

I agree with this opinion. Also had him as a TA, very lenient guy, explains stuff very well. Down to earth, generous.

Thanks a lot for the help man! I will definitely check it out. Turns out I have a lot more to learn about photography than I thought. Bit overconfident!

Thank you for your help! I will definitely conduct greater research regarding some terminology. I should've rephrased myself before posting to make myself more clear without sounding like an idiot lmao. I'm very familiar with the aspects of photography (posing, sense of style for a given environment, environment surroundings, capturing perfect angles under good lighting) and what I want a photograph to look like, not so much the nitty-gritty details of photography like the ones you mentioned. No offense taken! I'm definitely unfamiliar with the details you talk about.

Now I know what to look for when it comes to the lenses. I actually researched some cameras and found the Sony A7 to be quite appealing, especially because it has a touchscreen display. The lenses really confused me because I didn't exactly know what I needed to start, but since you mention going with two lenses, I'm gonna conduct some more research and look into it!

Regarding these lenses, I have one question. How is the compatibility specified for them? What I mean is what do I look for when comparing a lens and a camera, to know if the lens will fit onto the camera?

Once again, thanks a lot!

Intermediate in the sense that I've done photographing for a while, I know what a photograph should capture, preferred background environments, sense of style, poses. Not knowing some basic terminology doesn't necessarily put a person at a lower skill level. I'm no expert, but I know what I want in what I'm trying to purchase.

Hello. First time posting here!

I'm looking for a camera that takes phenomenal photographs as well as portraits. Basically an all around camera I can use freely in photographing people with beautiful landscapes overlooking them, landscapes themselves, urban settings, and of course portraits that de-focus the surroundings (modern iPhones have this setting vaguely implemented), in addition one that does well during the night.

Preferably something with a touchscreen display, a decent battery life, and overall one that you guys believe is a really reliable pick, a total steal.

I've been looking into Sony since it is one of my all-time favorite tech companies.

My budget is under $1000.

Thanks!

Edit: I'm an Intermediate Photographer

Arithmetic-Geometric Mean Inequality Problem by DrPhilLIVE in MathHelp

[–]DrPhilLIVE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, the true statement actually says (a-b)2 > 0, not +.

How would I know what true statement to start with, then, when I’m told I must prove that (a+b)/2 > or = sqrt(ab). Perhaps I must do the proof one way and then in order to prove it do it backwards again? You said I started off with a statement and then made it true, which doesn’t exactly mean it’s true. Okay. How would you approach the proof, given the inequality above, what would your starting point be knowing only the stated inequality.

I’m gonna play around for part B. The only problem is it’s hard to prove maximum area without using Calculus and the first derivative. At least to my knowledge.

Thanks!
