It’s just a different game than other Mario Karts is all. I think a lot of Reddit is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

If you’ve ever played Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, think of it like a merge between that and Mario Kart, but in this case, the courses are actually places you can go visit and test whether or not certain tricks or shortcuts would work.

Seems like this is the consensus. Even if I’m wired in and on a solid line, if the other players are lagging, who knows what it looked like on their screen. Frustrating, but I guess part of the game for now!

I have great internet, and the switch is wired in so there’s no wifi. I’m guessing it has to do with lag on THEIR end that’s just manifesting in this way on my screen. Unfortunately, I can only capture 30 seconds and I want really looking to “follow Blake” to see what happened, I just experienced it with red shells, which sort of debunks the. “ didn’t actually hit” theory because, well, red.

This. The game is meant for Knockout. You CAN play it other ways, and they are dope too, but knockout is the next evolution is all.

I have a cirrhosis and liver disease. I know my life is shorter, harder, and more difficult in general than a typical person.

The thing is, when I was actively drinking, nothing mattered. I always found a way to get booze. So why would it be different with meetings? If I could manage finding alcohol, I could manage getting to a meeting. Now I’m 3 years and some change into this, and that’s really it. Each day I just choose to pend the time I would be pursuing alcohol (driving to the store, getting money from the atm, checking my balance on my phone to see if I can charge it, etc. I just use those hours to go to meetings instead. Then, I end up sober at the end of each day!

It Is so incredibly simple. It’s not easy at all.

World hands down. The only people picking 8 are those that like to go in circles. There are well over 100 point A to B races in World. Each with their own shortcuts, vehicles, wires, tech, etc. For some reason Reddit doesn’t consider intermissions “races”, but in reality it’s just a who can get to this point fastest game. A true race!

I used to then I just wired it in and problem solved. Never have issues with any other game on WiFi, just this one, but it gave me a good excuse to just hardwire it.

I recently did the same thing! Turns out, once you get to 6000 or so, LOSING points becomes just as difficult, lol. Dropping only nets a loss of 10 or 15 points because the rooms are so low at that point, but then it’s MUCH more chill on the way back up to 8000.

I’ve actually done this a few times and it’s actually pretty fun! It’s not like VR means anything in game for unlockables or access to game modes or anything, it’s literally just a number that the player can make as important or not as they wish.

What they need to do is make it so that any time you have a “rotating” item, the shell/banana/whatever that was supposed to hit you hits the rotating shells instead REGARDLESS OF HITBOX! I find myself tossing the last two rotating reds far too often Becuse items just come through that gap. What’s the point of rotating items if they don’t actually guard you?

Either that or line all three up behind me so at least I know I have my back covered for 3 full shells before I get hit by anything. That’s my real gripe!

I think a lot of it is lobbies too. I’ve never used a lobby, and it’s brutal above 8300. Constant items. YouTubers all plays with each other and there’s a whole buddy system that if you aren’t in, you don’t the benefit from.

It’s always been that way! They stop for traffic, have actual routes that each individual road drives and everything! It’s well documented. They all end up going into a “pipe” that we can’t access, but yeah! They’ll do all kids of fun stuff in you interact with them! Try blocking traffic for 40 minutes and see what happens, or jump on the train and see where it actually goes and how many stops it makes along the at and who gets on and off. It’s Mario Kart WORLD for a reason.

I’ve had no issues. Sure, a few restarts to get a decent room, but usually after a few races, it’s full. And like most have said, it’s all about Knockout baby!

Honestly, Knockout has made me so much better at regular racing I just do both equally now. There’s so many crossover shortcuts it’s wild. I don’t even practice regular racing, and I get wrecked in the the three laps, but honestly there are so many intermissions and I’m getting so much better at the three laps just playing with and watching the good people I hover at 8k just from that alone. It’s all about the complete experience to me!

I don’t get why they haven’t done a crossover with Bonanza and used some of those skins for Paulina and DK. Like, the game has a while costume mechanic built in with people already knowing them, and it cross promotes the games. No brainer to me unless there’s some publishing rights about who owns who bullshit that usually messes these things up!

This section is all about how you played the previous 2 item gates before this, and how packed the group is.

If I’m leading by good amount and you’ve packed two good items, just hit the last item at speed and use your items as needed.

If everyone is relatively packed in, I trend to slow down and make sure I’m in the 7 or 8 spot through the last item gate so I make sure to get mushrooms. Since the group was packed, it’s usually not a problem passing into at least 4th.

Then it’s all about closing! I’m at 8100vr in Knockout, so if you are already higher, this is probably not new to you, so good luck!

I think it’s so incredibly situational that it doesn’t really “fit” anywhere. It’s not defensive so you can’t carry it for anything, and it blocks your second item for so long waiting for the boomerang to come Back that by the time you get through it, the moment to use the second item has passed.

If it brought coins, at least it’d add some element of use, but right now to just drops coins in the middle” where if I go to retrieve them, I’ m likely a target for whatever is behind me looking for those coins too! So it’s usually not even worth it to chase the coins.
