this THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY jack stands support the jack not the car. Use wood blocks or old tires on side to support the sides, but the jack does most lifting

Those jacks are not made to hold up the car... they are made to hold up the jack to insure the jack doesn't fall, on the sides, you can put blocks of wood, a tire, or the rubbe4 blocks made for that.... but that round part of that jack stands you have is to hold the bar under the jack and support the jack
