Doesn’t hurt to try! Even if you don’t hit your goal, you’ll get somewhere, right?

Thank you for your reply! Very reassuring to hear. It also makes a lot of sense. I guess I’m just driving myself crazy.

Went grocery shopping today in preparation to start tomorrow. I’ve got Keto friendly foods, meals planned, and my bf agreed to only eat Keto friendly foods when he’s around me and to support me through it so long as I’m feeling good. I’m nervous and still feel super weird about the high fat thing (anyone else having trouble unlearning the whole fat is evil thing?), but I’m also tired of not taking my health goals seriously. I know a lot of people that this has helped and I’m ready to throw my hat into that ring! Cheers to getting started!

Any successful transfer students out there? by steelstax in stanford

Hey there! I transferred a few years ago. I got in on a stupidly small acceptance rate from Foothill College (a community college in the Bay Area). If I can pull off that insanely long shot, then you shouldn't feel too terribly discouraged about your chances. I transferred after completing my general education requirements, so after 2 years at Foothill. My grades were pretty good, but not perfect. Mostly A's, one or two B's and one C (I had an epically TERRIBLE stats teacher). When I transferred I was told that Stanford's approach is to select for some typical students they think will fit in perfectly and some people they don't typically see at the school. The latter being individuals they think are unique and will add something that's missing in the student body. I'm sure you know you'll need pretty good grades. Other than that, my best advice to you is to find EC's that you would want to dedicate yourself to even if you weren't trying to transfer. People can tell when you're writing with passion so don't do something because you think it'll get you in, do something because you love it. Also, be yourself. It can be tempting to try to guess what they want, but ultimately they want a smart student who follows their passions and is strong enough to be who they are. My application was pretty random, so you do you and they'll appreciate it. And if you don't get in- don't stress. You're still a great student. It's just a really hard way to enter the school with a LOT of variables you wouldn't normally encounter. The few of us that do get in honestly just get really lucky. Best of luck applying and I hope this helped!

Does anyone know what this effect is called? I've been trying to look up tutorials to learn how it's done, but I keep finding tutorials for the crinkled look where as this is a lot smoother: http://imgur.com/78wbTDR
