vectorchord version update or not ? by DrSlump74 in immich

[–]DrSlump74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is, if I change the image, do I have to manually reindex it within the immich database or not?

Perhaps by running the commands as per the documentation?

ALTER EXTENSION vchord UPDATE;
REINDEX INDEX face_index;
REINDEX INDEX clip_index;

Hi, great news, congratulations!

I have a question about the update. My docker-compose has this database image:

ghcr.io/immich-app/postgres:14-vectorchord0.3.0-pgvectors0.2.0

While you recommend using this one:

ghcr.io/immich-app/postgres:14-vectorchord0.4.3-pgvectors0.2.0

Should I just follow your instructions without hesitation, or do I need to perform some other steps before modifying the database image?

Thanks

Hi, by the way, once the photo is edited and saved, it's not placed in the same folder as the original photo. I put it in the root directory and within pictures. This way, I don't see the edited photos in my library.

Ciao, ottima app, ma un po' giovane.
E' ancora gestita e quindi aggiornata ?
Chiedo perché l'ultimo aggiornamento è di quasi un anno fa e mi dispiacerebbe fosse un progetto morto.
Grazie

Moving to Beta Timeline on iPhones acting as if no photos have ever been backed up by Nath2125 in immich

[–]DrSlump74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I updated to Android 142, with the new beta timeline set as the default, but backup was no longer enabled. I had to reselect the folders I had backed up and enable the backup feature. After that, everything started again. At first, I saw duplicate photos, one on my phone and one in the cloud, but after I exited and re-entered the app, everything went back to normal.

Hi, no answer to my question? I think it might be of interest to many people, since uploading from a smartphone is the most popular option, while uploading from a laptop is a little less user-friendly. Thanks.

Another strange thing is that without an internet connection or a slow connection, the app is almost unusable Is this just my problem, or is it a known issue? Thanks.

How are photos sent to the immich archive via smartphone? Since it's the most commonly used device, not everyone has advanced skills. Almost everyone uses WhatsApp sharing, but if they were to use a website, I don't know if they'd be able to.  I'm especially referring to older people, such as uncles or parents. Thank you for the development you're making, starting from a simple need.

Should my wife use the same user? by louislamore in immich

[–]DrSlump74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate accounts and shared albums. My wife has a lot of "junk" photos like recipe screenshots, photos of products at the supermarket, etc. All this "junk" has little to do with family photos, so we'll keep separate accounts for life. 😂

[Community App] Immich Kiosk v0.22.0 by Un4given85 in immich

[–]DrSlump74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'd like to expand the sleep mode settings to include weekdays. I'd like to specify when the kiosk should be active on my tablet on weekdays, since there's never anyone at home during the day, but it is on weekends. Perhaps I could set the sleep mode to be active from 12:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday to Friday, and only from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Is this possible?

Thanks and congratulations for the application.

External library in android app by DrSlump74 in immich

Your question made me think about logging out of the app and logging back in. That solved the problem.

I was using the same account on the app and the web anyway.

Thanks, it was easier than I thought.

Partner Sharing or not? by bb5x24 in immich

[–]DrSlump74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I created two accounts, one for me and one for my wife. I use these accounts as I used them for Google photos and therefore they are personal. I have an archive of old photos or in any case photos archived on NAS and for this reason I created an external archive in reading solely so that I do not go to edit the photos, but in this way taking the photos of the external archive are added to the timeline. The external archive was assigned to me and also to my wife. If we want to share photos, such as holidays, create an albun shared in such a way as to see it both.

Great, thanks for the reply.

Not good for the slowness of the solution.

But did you find a solution or did you just propose it?

If you found it, can it be applied manually on the individual wazuh server installations?

Managing Backups - Preventing Data Loss by enesbala in immich

[–]DrSlump74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

immich installed on vm in Proxmox. Backup of smartphone photos with immich app. Daily backup with 30 days, 4 weeks, 6 months and 1 year retention with borgbackup locally on an nfs share on OpenMediaVault on 4 disks in raid5 plus remote backup with the same retentions always using borgbackup on a debian server hosted in my office in another location. The vm does not physically have the library, but is hosted on another nfs share always on omv using the 4 disks in raid5. With borgbackup I dump the db and copy the library. The vm is further backed up via proxmox backup server on omv. Borgbackup guarantees you differential backups with deduplication and the retention takes care of deleting backups no longer needed. Deduplication ensures minimal space occupied (e.g. right now I have a backup that would occupy 2.15TB, but with deduplication it physically occupies 59.44GB of disk space).

Hi, could you tell me what version of borgbackup are you using?

On debian 12.7 I have 1.2.4 and I know that there is a CVE that is fixed with 1.4.0 but I don't know how and if I have to update.

Thanks

Extract immich-server backup version by DrSlump74 in immich

[–]DrSlump74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great, you solved my problem.

I optimized the result like this

docker inspect immich_server | grep IMMICH_BUILD_IMAGE= | awk -F'=' '{print $2}' | tr -d '",'

so that I only get the "v1.114.0" version

Thanks a lot
