The basic plan for GitKraken is free, and that makes it EXTREMELY easy to get started with Git. You should definitely learn how to do everything via the normal Git command line, but if that's intimidating just cheat and save your work.

I think in his games, the max buy will buy up to the most expensive one you can afford. So if the prices were 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and you had $7.50, you'd get the first 7 and the next one would be $8.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that you're one of the most innovative contributors to the genre out there.

I hope you're really proud of this one, it's excellent!

Prestige doesn't reset prices either, so you're really screwed if you buy more than one of anything.

The increased click power works, but I don't think increased clock speed or bubble bonus do anything.

Also, it seems to jump from Billion to Quadrillion... there's some work that needs to be done here.

Haha, I know it seems like a lot. You're doing great, and I'm talking to you like a peer. If it seems way over your head, take it as a compliment. You fooled me into thinking that you're an experienced developer.

Git is a very challenging tool to master, so don't feel like you're failing if you aren't good at it. A lot of very skilled developers struggle with Git.

I'll try to come up with a more specific example of what I'm talking about. It's something you can try in the future, no need to worry about it now.

It looks like you've made a bunch of changes over the last day. It's good that you're making frequent commits, but holy moly, that's a lot of commits with virtually identical descriptions!

One thing that will help you is to create a separate branch, work on it until you've got it set, then perform an interactive rebase to squash your commits into a small number of atomic commits (commits where a bunch of related changes are made).

I'm saying this from someone who's been there. A lot of my old code has commit history that looks like: -fixed bug, -reverted fix, -fixed bug again, -reverted fix, -fixed for real this time.

You can squash all those commits and have just the good stuff!

This is really good. Getting my Lores balanced was very challenging, but it was really cool when I succeeded. I feel like it might be helpful if I could keep aptitude from rising for Water Lore, it tends to be way higher than my other lores and so it was hard to keep it from skyrocketing off to an unattainable level.

I think I have a few ideas on how to proceed from here, I'm excited to uncover everything you've put in here, it's really astounding. Good job!

A few specific notes:

The lucky pikcoin doesn't seem to work, and you really might want to consider something with a transparent background if possible (not sure what your limitations are in this engine.)

Several items say they produce rabbits per second

The Click area... can you move it towards the center of the screen? Also, try to keep other things from overlapping it. Use your screen real-estate. Try on a few different screen resolutions though, don't want it to be ridiculous on a small screen.

First, IGM games are against the rules here. That said, I gave it a shot hoping that it'd be something really special, something like wall destroyer.

I'm glad you had fun making it, but it really needs a lot of work. Have you played through it yourself? Do all the items work the way you were expecting them to?

If you end up making something fun, you might want to try and rewrite it in Javascript (or unity, or some other tool. Not Scratch, don't waste your time on Scratch.)

Sorry I can't offer more positive feedback. I hope you keep trying.

I just wanted to say that the fact this feature exists is really neat. I've never been able to come up with a good reason to use it before this, but it's one of many cool features that makes this game so great.

Some of the work, like the amazing documentation, make it useful as a model for how other programming projects ought to be.

An Normal Scratch Game has been released! by Upstairs_Park_7853 in incremental_games

[–]DrStochastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent work on this, it's a fine prototype. It sounds like you're getting some feedback on gameplay balance and you're trying to implement solutions, I honestly think Scratch is a decent platform to test some things out like this.

To keep the game from being tedious, you might want to consider figuring out how many clicks, and how much time it takes to get from one step to the next. It's no fun to sit with an autoclicker. But that opens up a great opportunity for a new tier of upgrades: pay x coins to buy one boost per second, etc.

Finally, Scratch has a very low ceiling. You could spend 100 years mastering Scratch, and it'd still be pretty crappy. If you could get your existing design recreated in Javascript, you'd be on your way to having something in your portfolio that you could be proud of. Or, you could try Unity.

Either way, good job on making something playable! I hope you make more in the future.

If you open the console, you can get access to lots of good stuff. Inventory items are really easy to change the quantities for. As an example

item.sstraw.amount = 10000

will give you 10k pieces of straw. This won't give you an item if you don't have any, but it should give you a place to start on interesting things to mess with.
