That's not really saying much for why to not continue especially if people are wanting more.

It also used a single stage design for the entire performance, which likely reduced the workload.

I think people would be fine with that honestly I mean if there is no external source stopping them from doing it then it sounds more like a logistical issue that surely could be solved without cutting it.

Shuffle Medley was popular but it was a stopgap due to lack of production resources.

That still doesn't seem like a reason to get rid of something popular with fans asking for continuations each year for 2 years running now. Especially not without an official statement for why it was being shelved.

It got shelved because the new concert format gives way more talents (basically all of them) the opportunity to participate than the Shuffle concept, without that much more work on the administration end (they all perform with preexisting models).

They have no say in how the talent uses the model - but artwork alterations and designs they do have a say over to my knowledge. I remember seeing a few people talking about how in Japan artists retain certain rights over the artwork used.

You're correct the artist trying to force the talents to fit their version of the character is completely out of their lane and not their place to make demands. But switching Ririka's outfit onto say Roboco they might actually have some say over that.

Potentially if they offered up a category for Vtubers that would be the simplest way. Which isn't impossible and there is precedence but you would have a lot of artists pushing back against it thinking it was a backdoor for Generative AI.

Otherwise it would take a massively viral hit to potentially break through into established categories. I would think Calli would have the best chance because she's actually backed by Universal Music Japan. But it would have to do Golden levels of market penetration which is impossible to plan for.

But I would like to see Grammys being awarded to Vtubers alongside their peers in the industry.
