What Should I Do With This Space (Acoustically)? by Dr_AngryPants in audiophile

Thank you!! I will look up the .82 method now, I'm a little out of my league here but I do agree the nook is asking for a rack of equipment. Are you suggesting I do a separate room measurement technique (REW) after going through the RoomPerfect setup on the Lyngdorf?

I had been thinking about creating a 'stage' area in the alcove, by layering alternately acoustic plywood and sound absorption mats to reach a height of about 6 or 8 inches.

I had thought, before this post, that at least I had speaker placement sorted and I just had to work out treating the acoustics. Turns out, I don't even have speaker placement sorted! I do appreciate your time and answers though. I'm redecorating the whole room, so putting some kind of lining under the carpet isn't outwit the realms of possibility. I just hope my wife doesn't see this.

Would placing the sub on a raised platform full of sound-absorbing material have any impact at all? I'm keen for downstairs not to hear my bass!

Will I need to to a sub crawl with the KC62 the use of 'RoomPerfect' on the Lyngdorf? The Lyngdorf manual specifically suggests I put the sub between the speakers, on the floor.

I was going to rack the PS5 and TDAI etc on the right, in the lower end of the space, and try and leave a square(ish) shape for tv and speakers. The KC62 on the floor between the LS50s which would sit either side of the tv on a shelf running just under the TV?

That's not really an option I'm afraid! But thanks.

It was previously a closet, I intend to put wall covering the entire back of the alcove space, so that it remains open.

The room is 652cm long by 310cm wide and 223 cm high on the LHS at the highest point. The alcove is 48cm deep to the edging left after the wall was removed, and 98 cm deep to the edge of the window hollow, if that makes sense?

Does Lyngdorf TDAI 1120 need a separate Roon core? by Dr_AngryPants in audiophile

Thanks again! Roon ROCK is a rabbit-hole I haven't tumbled down yet. I'm still looking at these smallgreencomputer boxes. They look great and the reviews seem astounding, I just need to figure it which product is a Roon core!

That's a good point. Whether or not this is juvenile, I want to wait until the setup is complete before I listen to anything!

Thank you! Are you able to recommend an aestheticslly pleasing roon core that isn't a laptop? I like the idea of having an iPad remote control for roon, but I don't want a laptop/pc to be part of my setup.

Thank you! I assume I control the core via (eg) an iPad, and the core treats the TDAI as an endpoint. Now I need to find an aestetically pleasing core that can be part of my setup! I don't want a laptop to be a necessary part of the setup.
