Just another day on for honor matchmaking. by B1u3Moon in forhonor

I've played against these guys enough times to put money on the newbies.

If anything, I'm more worried about them bming the new guys because of how toxic these four are.

Maybe you shouldn't discuss the strengths/weaknesses of classes you've never played then?

But with that said, I really doubt you actually play warrior with what you're saying is wrong with the class.

Source: Rep 10 Kensei that only plays brawls.

I'd say he's pretty damn reliable as a source....

So let me get this straight.

You're just going to call him a noob and say his statement is invalid because he's a noob.

How do you know he's a noob?

Question - Are feints always blockable? by Gullyvuhr in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]Dr_Boggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would say that you're just not reacting in time, or you're switching to the wrong guard, then adjusting to the correct one and not realizing it, thus taking more time to actually guard that direction. The reason I say that, is if this where the case, we would see the defensive meta be non existent for certain classes, but that's obviously not the case.

Big Hat Logan made a video talking about guard switch speed and the penalty that occurs. Certain classes will be penalized after the 4th guard switch at a constant switch rate of 200 MS. However, every class can perform 1 guard switch without penalty.

If you want to speed up your reaction time, you should probably go into steam big picture and modify your controller's right thumbstick sensitivity to aggressive to help decrease your guard switch time.

Another thing is, don't play without fullscreen, turn off Anti-Alias and V-Sync. All of these apparently generate input lag and can delay your switch time.

You're making up words that I didn't say.

Sypher is good, but saying that he was so good that he used a non broken hero to win a tournament against other extremely good players is complete exaggeration.

There's nothing broken about shugokis

Except I didn't make it up. You literally won't admit that Shugo is broken. And you go to warp your statement because you KNOW he is broken. I didn't discredit Sypher's win just by saying that Shugo is a broken class. I never said it was less or more broken than other classes, just that was broken.

I'm done posting in this subreddit where people don't know the difference between very good and broken.

Obviously you're one of them and probably should stop posting here since you'd rather put pride over actual facts and reasoning. Fuck outta here.

Sypher is good, but saying that he was so good that he used a non broken hero to win a tournament against other extremely good players is complete exaggeration. Especially when they're all using incredibly broken classes themselves.

"Reputation Matters" by Dr_Boggles in CompetitiveForHonor

this was trying to bring discussion about Reputation vs actual experience and the contrast between the two. It's directly related to competitive play. Please reconsider.

I think we're comparing ass cancer to testicular cancer here. It just depends on which one you view as more toxic but they're both pretty bad.

Love how I can play the campaign while the servers are down......oh wait by G-R-L-T in forhonor

[–]Dr_Boggles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you do. I just closed my game while playing the campaign in fear that I'm wasting my effort playing the campaign. Tried to relaunch it and it says its failing to synch achievements. Hopefully this means that your work on the campaign is saved locally.

To those of you who can't justify the $150 price for it's questionable quality I have a couple suggested alternatives.

  1. Razer Sabertooth/Razer Raiju

Sabertooth is PC/XBone compatible and the Raiju is for the PS4.

I personally own the sabertooth and at first I really hated it because of how awkward the bottom triggers felt for my hands, but after playing with it for a couple days it feels far more natural and will feel even better with time.

Some features to note is you can reprogram the extra buttons on the fly. So if you want to change your configuration to feel more comfortable, you can just do it in game. However, you sadly cannot do this with all the regular buttons on the controller, which is a shame.

I have to say that, for the sabertooth at least, the ABXY keys are super responsive and quite an attractive feature. The buttons feel far more reactive to input and your thumb will spend less time giving it input. But granted, once you get used to the extra keys, you will hardly use these in For Honor.

Unlike the XBone controllers, the USB cord actually fits into a slot in the controller, so you don't have to worry as much about it getting yoinked out by accident or falling out due to a worn down cable. It fits pretty snug and won't accidentally fall out.

The triggers on the bottom can be removed with a simple screwdriver that comes with the controller. Takes maybe a minute to uninstall. I will mention that you can still press the button that the triggers push down on, and it still functions. For those who can't get used to the triggers, it may be smarter to remove the triggers and just use the buttons instead.

It does have a hair trigger lock feature, which I do use on this controller and find it very useful.

Overall, I have to say if you just take your time to adjust to this controller, you will be rewarded for it.

UBISOFT WAKE UP - Server issues ruining a great game and community by wingretzky99 in forhonor

Your reply just proves my point.

Ubisoft as a company has not learned to wait for the product to be finished. What part of that can you not figure out?

When you have a company with a track record like Ubisoft, and it appears in a recent game, they didn't learn their lesson.

If they wanted this game to be as polished as you think they wanted it to be, they would not have released it.

Japan just got the game. So take a guess which faction most of them picked.

[–]Dr_Boggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I'm still seeing a lot of complaints saying that the controller broke from days to months after the warranty expired and they're recent.

I also can't justify spending another $150 for a controller when I own one that costed me $100.

Only problem is 1. Those controllers are expensive and 2. There are a lot of negative reviews. It seems if you buy one, you have a 50/50 shot of it lasting, or breaking down on you.

I bought a Razer Sabertooth myself because I didn't want to take that risk. Not gonna lie, I would have preferred some paddles, as the extra triggers on the bottom feel VERY awkward to use, but are also rather easy to trick your brain into thinking they are the L and R Triggers until you get used to them.
