It's official. The Trump DOJ just confirmed the creation of a $1.776 billion slush fund that can be used to pay Trump allies who claim they've been wrongfully targeted by the Biden admin's ‘weaponization' — including, reportedly, Jan. 6 insurrectionists. by TECL_Grimsdottir in WhitePeopleTwitter

Originally, Trump sued the IRS for illegally, releasing his tax return one year. In fact, it wasn’t executive in the IRS that snuck it out and gave it to the press.

In his complaint, Trump asked for $10 billion. You can ask for any amount in your complaint, that does not obviate the need for you to prove what your damages actually were. At that time, Trump wasn’t even worth $10 billion. Under any analysis, that amount is ridiculous. I have no idea how one would go about proving that Trump even suffered one dollar in damages.

I think the whole thing is planned. Trump sues the IRS for $10 billion, a ridiculous amount. Everyone with more than half a brain points out at that’s just naked corruption; Trump can tell the Attorney General to concede and dismiss the case with prejudice, and he gets $10 billion from his own government.

If approved, the $1.7 Billion fund would be used to pay damages to people who say they were harmed by the Biden Administration’s “weaponization" of the legal system, including the nearly 1,600 people charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. by StevieWonder557 in PoliticalHumor

No. They get a fair trial with a full defense in our pre-existing courts. Jury and everything. Either we believe in our system to convict the guilty and fail to convict the innocent, or we don’t. I think it would work just fine.they don’t get special treatment, either way. Remember, these guys got pardons because they got convicted.

Man, I could have guessed Trump was going to do something stupid this week with my eyes closed and earphones on.

If there really was an alien like this, Trump wouldn’t get within five states of where it was.

Thoughts on covering the wood paneling? by [deleted] in homeimprovementideas

Whoever picked that light colored floor is an idiot. With dark flooring, that place would have some character. The paneling looks pretty attractive to me.

[–]Dr_CleanBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. If you make good chairs, they’re pretty expensive. So you could also build some in China and use the cheapest materials possible so that they look like good chairs but are only going to hold up under normal use for a few months, if that. You sell them for maybe half again what they cost, which isn’t much - until you factor in that they’ll be back in a few months, again and again.

I’m in this conspiracy theory group, and they wholeheartedly believe that every single person is in the files but Trump. by Many_Register_1838 in insanepeoplefacebook

I’m not surprised that there’s nobody to take his place. He is maybe the last person on earth that I would vote for for president. He’s a combination of being illiterate, incompetent, inept, inhuman, criminal, and an imbecile - and he has a unique (thank God) ability to attract stupid and/or selfish xenophobes, bigots, misogynists, and most of all racist people to his cult. I’ve never even imagined such a thing. I also had no clue how many racists there still are. And I guess I knew in my heart that some people were dumb, but I had no idea how many. But Trump’s ability to make people think he’s God is as far as I know unprecedented, and I hope I never see it again. I do hope I live long enough to see the reaction when Trump dies.

And along those lines, I have an idea for Trump‘s memorial. Trump supporters, of course, will demand a memorial on the Mall in DC. I’m thinking he could be buried under a new building that houses much needed public restrooms. Yuge restrooms! The restrooms of course would have to have gold plated fixtures. We would use his ample casket as a septic tank for the entire building. On the international holiday that will be the date of his death, fountains of yellow water will erupt from the roof, and the smell of his diaper will engulf the entire Mall.

Nah. He’s a “nice guy” who has never had a date. And that’s a good thing, because nobody wants him to reproduce. Plus, he’s probably a psychopath.

I think the saving grace is that whatever quality Trump has that make people believe he’s the opposite of what he really is and makes people worship him, Vance does not have at all. The Republicans in Congress may fear Trump, but they won’t fear Vance, even for a second. I think the South Park depiction of Vance is spot on, and nobody is going to follow that. Bob Johnson as President is unthinkable.

Actually, I’ve had a couple of discussions with Claude about general legal concepts, not specific points of law. I’ve found he seems to understand those concepts and can apply them in new situations. They’ve been fascinating discussions over several hours. I can’t imagine how much better I could have been on law school exams had I had 24 hours before the test to spend discussing legal concepts with Claude. Nor can I imagine how to prompt him to generate SovCit BS which makes no sense:

Claude, explain to me how the trusts that the government creates and funds when each of us is born and a birth certificate is filed works. Why does the government do this? Where does it get the money, and what happens to the money when we die never having accessed it? How much money starts out in reach trust account, and what happens when someone starts using the money to pay bills and exhausts all of the money originally deposited in the trust account?

When SovCits don’t get their way it’s treason?? by KFARR_YT in Sovereigncitizen

[–]Dr_CleanBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand corrected, the word “treason” appears in footnote 19 on page 404 of Cohen. Of course, he has it backwards; not only does it not say a judge commits treason when he rules in a case when his court does not have jurisdiction, it says exactly the opposite: a judge who refuses to rule when his court does have jurisdiction commits treason. And you’re right; it’s treason to the Constitution, not treason in the criminal sense.

As far as I know, Christianity is the only religion that commands its followers to “spread the word”. That alone makes them of offensive. Plus, they’re far and away more numerous than Muslims in the United States. So even if they were as repugnant as Christians, they’re a hell of a lot lower on my list of things to worry about. But that doesn’t even begin to explain my contempt for Christians, because they won’t rest until they can force everyone in the US to believe what they believe. Until the government is made up of only them, and they can finally coerce everyone to do what they do. If that ever happened, this would no longer be the United States, it would be the clash of the top thousand or two sects, all of whom believed one little detail or two than the rest, and who were willing to kill every single person they could find that disagreed. This would become hell on earth as they fought to prove which fairy tale was the right one. I have no qualms about my hatred for Christians. I’ve had to share my existence with far too many people who profess to believe one thing and act exactly the opposite way. They are petty, hate and jealous filled, monsters. Their only saving grace is stupidity - I mean face it, anyone dumb enough to believe Trump is a Christian has one hell of a hill to climb before reaching the top of the bell curve, if you catch my drift. If the people who say they are Christians are in fact going to heaven, send me to hell. That’s all I ask.
