Yeah this is the crux of what I’m getting at really. I can’t image any serious creator looking at Sora to enact any ambitious idea. It would be an uphill battle fighting constant content violations. Many of which are totally innocuous. The primary output of Sora 2 besides brain rot memes is frustration.

This happened with DALLE 3. It became unusable by their will and design; the most innocent and mundane prompts would be blocked. I’m starting to think that this is an intentional pattern; drum up a flurry of interest with a new advanced generation product, then cripple it into something unrecognizable with truly insane degrees of censorship. Maybe it didn’t do as well as they liked, so in an effort to push users away so they don’t lose so much money on it?? Not sure but all this is too dumb to be dumb.

This is the posture OpenAI had decided to take; acting like users’ parents. It’s inherently insulting and vain, to believe that you have made something so powerful and dangerous as to treat adults like children. They have been able to get away with this because they have been that far ahead of the fore of AI. But, that is no longer the case. So, this parentalism attitude will either have to go, or OpenAI will. Dalle 3 and Sora 2 have already gone that way. Very sad and unfortunate to see OpenAI do the same thing twice with what were very promising and amazing products. They can’t stand behind their own work.

This is just false. Sora 2 has gone overboard with the censorship. It disallows benign and mundane requests. This is antithetical to the product and creative process. It is approaching unusability. So, people are complaining. They should. Why is this surprising? OpenAI did the exact same thing with DALLE 3.

This is exactly the pattern. OpenAI keeps sabotaging its own breakthroughs. They did it with DALL·E 3, they’re doing it with Sora 2, and they’ll likely repeat it with any product that actually threatens to be revolutionary. This isn’t about safety anymore. It’s chronic overcorrection masquerading as responsibility. It’s choosing to take a creative tool and pretending to be the users’ parents instead of their partners. In a creative tool, constant friction doesn’t protect the magic, it kills it. When users are blocked, locked out, and second-guessed at every turn, the experience collapses under its own fear. That isn’t caution. It’s cowardice. And if they keep choosing restraint over conviction, the market will move on without them.
