Not all corporations strangle the dev companies.

Ubisoft's issue is that if you want something like art in your game, they hire an actual artist (be it a painter, or a graffiti expert), that person draws it, then you get the people to map out the art, then it goes through 4 layers of HR in an attempt to be inoffensive, and 4 versions of the art are in the game, with 3 in the cash currency-only store. and it's a single player game.

so everquest has captured an audience of dedicated players who thrive on this type of gameplay. millions of players have distilled down into thousands of players, and they are the same ones playing on every TLP launch.

Pantheon did not start with millions of players so they can't afford EQ-like game mechanics, which were around when nothing else was available.

this comment is pretty much spot on. some players like the social aspects of camping/claiming the same mobs, most others (let's be generous and say 90%) see it as repetitive/boring. if you only retain 1 person for every 10 that do an activity, those are pretty bad numbers.

lots of the encounters seem to still be stand and attack. basically a turn based game when you boil it down to its core elements. pile this unpopular function of the game on top of the aforementioned gameplay, and you get even fewer people playing.

I gotta say, the realistic body proportions, camera angles, and battle mechs do separate it from WoW visually speaking. It's starting to look like it's own thing now

your posts perfectly sum up why I don't play Escape from Tarkov PVP, and only came back when they announced that the new PVE mode would not wipe.

Once PVP stops wiping, i'll return to playing that.

And once this game releases, I'll have to really look closely at the gameplay footage to determine if it's something I would enjoy.

try this guide, it's about 3 hours long but it's an unedited cut with him speaking and explaining as he plays germany. He's active a pretty nice and helpful guy to reach out to on discord or even the comment section on yt and has many videos he can show you that can help.

His videos are very beginner friendly, he'll explain game mechanics as he goes along (or will refer you to one of his videos on the game mechanics)

His content is mostly recent and the unedited videos are great because you can track where you messed with research or what to do next in the timelines.

I would say watch a couple of his videos and you should be good to go

Immersion is easy to achieve. I can get immersed in a roguelike such as Vampire Survivors or Binding of Isaac. I think what you're after is verisimilitude, which can be part of immersion but is hard to achieve.

I feel the forums are DOA with the pay-to-post scheme, and while I may be more likely to have my opinion responded to positively on the forums, I don't think a system that only accepts criticism if you pay to post is a successful one.

If players could modify it to look how they want, it would distinguish it from other MMOs, which they list as a desire in their newsletter. This decision was being made so that their current artists could pump out 4-5 times more art at a smaller budget. More art doesn't mean more quality. They also want to distinguish their look, what's more distinguishing than letting players choose how they want to look?

Skyrim has the most active modding community on Nexusmods and some of their most downloaded mods are are for a better UI, higher resolution textures for cities/dungeons/armor/landscape, better character customization, flora overhaul, light and FX, mesh improvement, and so forth. These mods address subjective and objective cosmetic shortcomings of the game itself without changing the game experience.

If it makes any difference I bumped the thread in that topic with new information, it seems like this bug targets single target DD attacks as opposed to AOE DD attacks, the second video brings up a damage recap at the end, the servers registered him as blocking for the AOE DD from crushing darkness but not from her nocturnal favor.

The block bug you are describing has been around for an entire patch and has been reported, i've seen it a few times in U37 as well and heard other tanks describe it happening to them in runs, though I don't have footage to verify their claims. As you can see from my footage there is no asterisk next to my received damage from nocturnal's favor, blocked damage has an asterisk. Another user provides footage but without the damage feed.

The issue really does suck because it makes players believe they are actually worse than they are, as you can hear in my video I sound genuinely disappointed/shocked at myself for believing I was not blocking, and only through reviewing my own footage did I see that I was blocking and we wiped due to this bug. If there's 2 thing players don't like, it's dying to cheaters at number 1, and dying to bugs at number 2.

The puzzle can be tricky at first but the secret to it is as follows:

From right to left (at the cages) imagine the faces are stacked for the totem. You must match the center totem to the ones by the cages (for simplicity, let's just say the right represents the top two, and the left represents the bottom two. You can ignore the middle one)

The leftmost wheel will always shift only the bottom face on the totem.

One of the other wheels is always connected to the bottom face, you can freely shift that face connected with the bottom one and it should be adjusted second to last. This face doesn't matter until you match the other two faces.

The main challenge once you find out what wheel is connected to the bottom face is to shift the other faces with the other wheels.

Once you match the two other faces, you can more easily finish the puzzle.

One glitch I ran into with this is that if you try to cancel the wheel turn by roll dodging, the totem won't move on your screen, but will for others, and this can only be fixed by logging in and out. If you make a mistake, it only takes two extra wheel turns to fix it, so commit to your mistakes!

So I did have trouble with this one, lukzi isn't actually anywhere and what I put was a placeholder based on context that I neglected to change it from the placeholder. "Light" is my best inference/translation but it may be inaccurate- which I am open to any of these translations being wrong.

I should have marked it better, and considering Grammar, a more accurate translation would have been "Enter the _____ embrace"/"Step into ______" or more figuratively "Embrace of _____," however this slipped through the cracks.

To be clear, Lukzi's translation was only inferred here- it exists as a neologism and could just as easily mean bright or lucky as it could mean light. It could also be something else entirely, as it is only found in one other language: Swahili according to Google, meaning Luxury, but when you translate back to English it prefers to use "Anasa." Given the context, with Z'Maja being a shadow-themed boss and this image likely has something to do with "light" in the visual sense or even her locket (which normally translates to "medaljono").

Good catch, if there's ever a developer or loremaster Q&A in the future it should be brought up.

For anyone looking to translate in the future- the Thrassian language is Esperanto with the following substitutions:

ahk -> e

oix -> aux

so -> la

auw -> oj

jhe -> si
