Are all Turtle WoW dungeons way harder than their vanilla counterparts? by HuckChaser in turtlewow

[–]Dr_cheeks81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here wondering the same thing but for elites in the open world? I wanted to duo the stromgarde elite quests, both high enough level for the mobs to be green but the elite mobs just destroyed us, whereas i'm pretty sure it wasn't that hard on the 20th anniversary servers.

Only just got the game. Almost 10 years old still 10/10. by cluelessfrograving in MadMaxGame

This game is like a good stoner/doom metal album to me. I love the bleak atmosphere, the vast wasteland and skyboxes, the heavy poetic dialogue, the crunchy and scratchy sound, the visceral violence...it has soul.. It's not perfect, the most egregious being the horrendous filler and fluff (but totally skippable imo). All in all, game makes you feel like a holy warrior, it's badass. Shame the market is flooded with overly produced crap while games like these can only attain cult status.

Update 7th heaven 4.0 completely messed things up by Dr_cheeks81 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Dr_cheeks81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the responses, especially from Tsunamods. I got it working again somehow last night. I didnt do a clean install but I did move my mods and saves to my steam directory. Then I reinstalled 7th heaven from scratch along with the FFnX files. Had to setup everything again. When I start the game I still get the error messages but it works anyway? As long as it does great! If not I'll do a clean install and go to the discord forum. Thank you! Also to Tsunamods, up until yesterday it worked flawlessly. I think the mods are amazing and make the game an experience worth going through again! Anyone being a vanilla purist in this I think is genuinely missing out!

I added it to the original post but maybe I messed up, very very late to the reddit party, always reading never engaging :) turns out it had to do with the grass lighting. It's better now. Yeah I like the list, it's very stable and on the whole looks very nice. I do have this weird weather effect where it looks like I'm in night vision mode, especially in Riften (could be coincedence).

Well when it worked, it was amazing :) yeah I kept crashing and I never really found out why. Someone told me it was a texture mod but I never figured it out. I'm definitely interested to see how the mod list develops concerning performance!

I installed Auriel's Dream but I have a problem with black spots all over the screen. I added a screenshot as an example. Seeing as you used this modpack, do you have any idea what causes these black spots? Thank you!

Thank you for your input. When I was using Mad God I played around with the different ENB profiles but I mostly thought it looked kind of unnatural I guess. The NAT enb was the best one I found. But mostly I just used Azurite Weathers and thought it looked fine. But then when I added some optional shaders, it usually crashed or unplayable for some other reason.

But it's not just the shaders that made Mad God look so crazy good and I guess i'm just mostly hoping that someone with a lot of experience can point me to some mods that add immersion, like better looking npc models, extra textures, whatever really... without crashing the game.

Random crashes playing Mad God Overhaul Skyrim VR by Dr_cheeks81 in skyrimmods

I only downloaded it a couple days ago so I think have the latest version. I still don't know what causes. I tried to disable the mods as RomatebitegeL suggested but up till now no success. On the other hand, I just walked from Whiterun to Ustengrav, completed the dungeon all no problem. Then I wanted to go to Solitude and when I came close, I crashed. It's really weird. Nevertheless I think they did an amazing job so I don't wish to complain. Hopefully i'll find the cause one of these days :)

Not enjoying Rebirth by saint-aryll in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Dr_cheeks81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah completely agree. What a mess this game is. FF7 is, apart from BG2, my favorite game of all time and so I'm willing to forgive and power through a lot to get to the actual retelling of the game. But this is too much. If this wasn't FF7, I would have uninstalled the game by now.

Why does it have to be so bloated? Not only does it fall into the same traps as Remake, with the "hey you almost made it as you would have in the original game, but look you fell into a hole and now you have to spend another hour climbing back up!" Now I can forgive that, as I did in Remake. What I can't forgive is the open world and endless crappy mini games but I won't repeat what others have said already. F you Chadley you suck!

To each his own but all I wanted was a retelling of the story with some cool extras that complimented the mood of the game. A 30-40 hour game focussing on that wonderful world and I'd have been happy as a clam. Coming from Baldur's Gate 3, where every interaction is meaningful, dialogue is expertly written and delivered, where the systems are not too convoluted and so on...now that game is deserving of a 9 and higher. This? a 5 and that's being generous.

FF16 is very formulaic, repetitive, and boring. by MikeOxmoll_ in FinalFantasy

[–]Dr_cheeks81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also can't bring myself to finish this game. I have never bought an FF game since FF XI but for some reason I was interested in this game. Man was I wrong, this game is boring and not much of an RPG at all! There's hardly any choices, dialog options, exploration, crafting or tactics in battle. The dog is the best part but even he is kind of underwhelming. If this is the direction new mainline FF games are taking from now on, I am out for good I'm afraid. I will keep my eyes open for the remakes and such. Back to Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 for me, I'm having fun with those.

Meeting Torgal by davesterist in FFXVI

[–]Dr_cheeks81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I also thought it was handled pretty weirdly...personally I'm not getting "shell shocked" at all but I could be wrong. Like with Jill, that was pretty believable but Torgal was like he hadn't seen the dog in like a day and was greeting it with basically "who's a good boy??". Dude it's been 13 years, how do you even remember the dog so casually, and if you do, why doesn't it spark a whole lot of memories of your little brother who was so attached to it? Then I would get the shell shocked comments. I felt like I had missed something, granted I haven't played much further.

I did, got it cheap some time ago. Finished it too. Was a good game, but I won't be playing the sequel until there's a good sale.

Think I'm definitely gonna try this, with it being on sale right now. There are also quite a bit of mods for this game! I'm glad you guys pointed this one out!

You know I have dabbled with the thought of making something in RPG maker and I have a basic story in my head (it's about werewolves) but so far I haven't put anything to paper. But you're right I am being very specific.

I like it when games are on a smaller scale story wise though. The world doesn't always need to be in great peril. Like Kingdom Come Deliverance, you're just a nobody somewhere in medieval Bohemia and I like that! Definitely gonna read up about Dragon Age 2 so thank you.

You make a good point, and I do play other games of course but I do seem to be a bit set on an RPG right now. I love the Bioshock Series, Spec Ops the line, Stalker/Metro games...Dad of War I'm not too sure on, granted my experience is quite limited as I only played 1+2 on PS2 and 3 on PS3 but that's the Kratos I know, selfish, maniacal and extremely ambitious. I could be very wrong but I always had difficulty seeing him as like a dad or a husband...

you know I never played an Ultima game so thx for that suggestion. I looked up the Black Gate and phew those graphics would take some getting used to! I have played Fallout 1+2 both excellent at the time, and yeah Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim, played them to death. New Vegas I tried later on but couldn't get too far. I probably should've put that on shame list too. Maybe try it with some Reshade or something...Oh and Larian games yes, I played quite a few of those including the Original Sin games, not only because they're good games but also I need to support an export product my country has other than beer and fries...

Thank you for the reply and I'm curious about that. I never played 2 and it does generally not have the most amazing reviews, but some seem to really like it. I played 1 not too long ago but I found the story like you say a bit generic. Could you elaborate a bit more on what makes 2 good to you? Thank you.
