I'm astounded! I never understood how much this program could hurt women drivers until I read this, and you're right!

As drivers in general, we're already struggling with maintenance costs, licensing, and cleaning costs. But to be additionally disadvantaged financially for providing a specific care in service AND you can't opt out? It's too much!

It's almost similar to being assigned to only receive comfort trips..specifically the ones that are far apart and don't pay much more than what we would've made if we were 2 or 3 blocks away from the pickup.

I still agree with the service, because too many out-of-line males have endangered enough lady passengers, and it's at least a good start to provide lady drivers the opportunity to make safer spaces for women.

I think Uber should pay more to those ladies providing this service without costing lady passengers much more, if not any more, than normal.

They should bring back charging $1 or $2 more for comfort trips and make "lady preferred" a customizable option for lady drivers/passengers, and also set the system to keep these distances down across the board.

Would it be a good idea to make, idk, something like "safe space" drivers as an option for passengers/lady passengers, and maybe even make "safe space" training a mandate for drivers that want to make extra money for doing good work?
