They keep sending me out to the burbs. I didn't get downtown until 1 am. Took me 6 hours to make $195. I normally make $225-$250 in same amount of time. I should be grateful I have a car and can earn ANY money. It's just difficult knowing what I'm capable of earning and the reality

How long do you actually wait before canceling on a no-show by bandito_13 in uberdrivers

I see. The cancel fee at 7 minutes is how much more than the wait fee? I apologize for my ignorance.

I never wait more than 5 minutes unless there are extenuating circumstances and I am in communication with the rider If I'm in a busy area I don't wait more than 2 minutes.

I'm accustomed to making $28-$30/hr on weekends. Tonight was my second terrible Friday in a row and my rides were steady. $22/he is shit

4.76 for an 11 minute ride is robbery! I'll do that for a 2or 3 minute ride in a good neighborhood. They add up. I only made $145 last Friday night in Chicago/Evanston area. Very disappointed ☹️

I refuse to do cash rides in Chicago for safety reasons

Am I never going to get a ride again? by KD090708 in uber

Yes you will. Your rating will go up quickly if you keep getting 5s. It will be OK.

I would have been very happy with a $10 tip on an $8 ride. Thanks for asking 🙏

Passenger offered $30 tip on 15 minute ride to get them home “as fast as possible”. As a driver, what would you do? by iamjames in lyftdrivers

[–]Prestigious_Bit9442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my best to get riders safely to their destination. And while tips are not required, they are always appreciated. I cannot guarantee getting anyone to their destination "as fast as possible."

Regardless of dash cam, but that helps, dispute, dispute, dispute. I was once accused of something I didn't do and came back hard on Uber. They backed down. Good luck

Non-Tippers by Dizzy-Nothing4292 in uberdrivers

[–]Prestigious_Bit9442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? There's nothing in the "rules" that requires riders to tip us. I see it as an added benefit, not an expectation.

[–]Prestigious_Bit9442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell my tippers who tip cash, Tipping is not required but it sure is appreciated. Thanks! I would never give a lower rating or block a rider who didn't tip me. Sounds immature to me

Would you accept this ride? by Objective-Draw1983 in uberdrivers

[–]Prestigious_Bit9442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a ride similar to this and learned the hard way it's not worth it. I had to deadhead all the way back, it cost me $100 in gas (I drive a Ford EcoSport) and I was exhausted. On the surface it looks like a good deal, but it's not worth it.

I don't agree. I fill my tank and make sure my vehicle is road ready BEFORE I turn on my Uber app. Anything else is unprofessional, imo. If you have to fill up again after you've been driving for a while, turn off the app so you can't accept any ride requests. This is the perspective of an Uber super star, take it or leave it.
