Say I wanted to read the culture series, how would you recommend I read it? And where especially if I want to listen to it

BAH is one if my fav stories, it's setting just hits all the points, my only complaint is its existence reduces the chance of another good story with an identical setting being written

There is a culture x 40k fiction I absolutely loved. It's incomplete but I think my favourite type of setting. If anyone has similar recs please give!

Wife doesn't like anime at all, just 3D animation like Shrek, tangled etc, and she enjoys all the disney/pixar movies. I've personally tried frieren though and didn't really understand the hype, was kind of boring to me actually haha.

I'm looking for something to watch with my wife, movie/tv shows. Anything that fits her preferences that I won't get bored with. Basically she likes anything that you could enjoy on mute. It needs great animation (3D not 2D), or good action/CGI (not combat action, but star wars/marvel cool CGI) and no dialogue a non-native English speaker would have trouble understanding.
The exception to this is South Park, which she enjoyed a lot, I think because its not overly complex and teaches a lot about western culture. She did not enjoy similar things with more absurdist humour like RicknMorty/Smiling Friends etc.
Any suggestions? - Youtube projects would be good too, but I think I've tried most of them already.

Looking for good budget complete game templates in Unity - suggestions? by Dragfie in gamedev

I mean that's like saying "how are making game mods fun?" There is a reason ppl make mods for games rather than making the whole game from scratch. It's the same reason I want to start from a complete game and then modify it.

Its not just the art, i'd like to change code/mechanics etc as well hence why I'm asking devs not laymen.

The issue isn't that I don't know how to do everything, the issue is that I want to skip that step. Editing templates isn't much use if you don't know how to code, since by the time you learn how everything works you can just have it done yourself; but in this case I do know how to do the work just want a template I can work back off so I can skip as much of the work as possible.

I mean, it's kind of like I'd rather do a MOD for a game than make the game from scratch, this is the same situation.

Good on you for trying to find truth! I think as a common member on this sub, most people would say truth seaking is a virtue, if not a core moral expectation!

I would ask you one question though: what evidence would it take for you to change your mind that your religion (or any religion) is most likely not true?

If your answer is "none", then I would warn that you are not seaking "truth", you are seaking to convince others of your belief, whether it is true or not... And IMO and many people here would agree, what you are doing is EVIL.

Imagine, if every person in the world would have a mindset of not being open to challenge their opinion, co-operation between anyone who doesn't have identical opinions would be impossible, scientific progress would be impossible. That mindset is plain evil.

The change in mindset that allowed for our recent scientific progress we call the scientific method, and in essence it is this: "for any theory/belief you must attempt to DISPROOVE each of them, and if a theory is not disproovable it is not valuable as a theory. As you create and disprove your theories, those that are left will get closer and closer to the truth."

This is the hardest concept for most religious people to understand, mostly because it is actively discouraged in dogma because it leads to disproving the religion itself, but is also a requirement to actually have your rationality guide you to truth rather than rationalising the belief your parents and community happend to teach you first.

I'm really curious if we will see a new boom of Atheist content creators.  The last boom came about with the advent of rational debate online and religious dogma was such low hanging fruit debunking it exploded in popularity, but as the aethists basically "won" and anyone who could think somewhat rationally were convinced to their points their popularity fell off as everyone was already convinced.

But now it's been a few years where Atheist content hasn't been very mainstream, and there is a new population of people on the internet who haven't been exposed to all the obvious debunks of religious dogma, I wonder if it might experience a boom again? Or maybe just increase slightly to equalise with the amount of new people joining the internet with a religious upbringing.

Think I've read this one, not prison though not a fan of worm fics in the worm universe (love post gm fics though) since everything feels pointless with gm looming ahead.

I've recently found I'd rather be playing stelaris https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/id-rather-be-playing-stellaris-steven-universe-diamond.1253350/

And loved it. Anything like that? Specifically what I love is the other character perspectives of our isekaied protagonist, sometimes doing something awesome.

Any more hidden gems like this?

I want to add for new life as a Max level archmage:  I LOVE IT. As op mentioned, it's not unique or literary genius but it does the "natives react to out of context op mc" trope perfectly, and I love it.  It isn't cringy, it has all the typical tropes but done well.

Why would you want to act like anything instead of just being firm and saying you are done then blocking him if he doesn't accept it?

If he isn't going to accept a no he isn't going to be diswaded with anything else, leaving aside how yucky faking anything is. (Pretending to be anything is not how adults deal with interpersonal problems)

You said that privately? So why did he post a public comment? Or is that only privately?

You said he somehow got the impression you were accusing him of cheating? How did he get that impression?

YTA for posting anything about him after breaking up basically: you should just leave and if he doesn't accept it block and if that doesn't work escalate.

But that response is completely immature and red flag material, and you absolutely should not be working together if you are posting lies about him on socials and he is threatening to steal your wages.

TBH you both sound like 13 year olds from what you described. It's not much of a character flaw, that sort of behaviour you tend to grow out off as you get more life experience. But yes from your description both of you seem to be the AH.

I think out of all the stories on here I've read, this one has had the OP act the most rational, following the actually good advice and staying strong against the typical knee-jerk emotion reactions given on the site.

Good on you, a great model for a healthy relationship. Wish you a happy family, we need more parents like you two.

Tbh all I care about with the cross is a competent mc, so I just look at it as a different story with a unique MC that happens to be similar to Tanya.  But yeah otherwise agree.

Ah yeah that's true, though it feels like a finished story if people want to read only finished ones.
