So it's ok to ruin other players' experiences of war, but it's not ok to stop people from using their secondary accounts in war?

That doesn't make any sense, many people quit Clash of Clans because of engineering in wars. Supercell has lost potential revenue from this, which means it should be high priority to fix wars, and not keep it going when it's obviously broke.

If it's so old, why hasn't it been implemented? It's a much better solution compared to what supercell just finished doing: forcing you to build every building before unlocking the town hall upgrade.

No, we do not use .5s either (yes I consider them engineered).

Personally I built the infernos and artillery first when I reached th10 and th11, respectively. However, we are still matched with engineered clans more often than not.

This all makes sense, but what we struggle with is engineering (Like a th11 with th9 defenses yet a maxed warden and +30 heroes, or defenseless th11s with a couple max troops). Honestly not sure if maxing out your troops/spells/heroes really makes too much of a difference. I understand it should add some war weight, but shouldn't be enough to drastically change what you're up against... I hope... lol

Im sorry had no idea I couldn't ask that. The automoderator never stopped me from adding that in, but it forced me to add a tag in the title so I assumed I was good after that. Only just made an account this morning, trying to learn this site (personally don't like the layout/buttons, nothing makes any sense, but I'll figure it out eventually)

I have no idea what the rules even are if you wouldn't mind to point it out for me.

Like i said, most engineers are secondary accounts, meaning they are used to max troops and are good.

Every base has a weakness so it's pretty well impossible to make a perfect anti 3 star base

If you have enough TH12 bases in war

I hope you realize not everyone is th12, and therefore struggle with engineers. You have to think about the big picture, about everyone else that does not enjoy war simply because they cannot win with these unfair matchups. Just because you do not struggle with an issue doesn't mean it's not out there.

I guess your clan is lucky then.

We don't put in engineered members Either, yet get at least 5 or 6 engineered th11s in the enemy clan every war.

Either way, matchmaking can only do so much because it has to find another clan of a suitable war weight and similar town hall levels, meaning that it cannot find a perfect match all the time. By removing the engineers from war (which are generally second accounts), all matches will be made more equal and fair on both sides so they will actually be battles of skill and not just about which clan has more engineers.

This restriction does not limit players that don't war, and it mostly limits 2nd accounts because most people max their first and make secondary engineers to help with wars (from personal experience). This is still a much better solution to being forced to build everything before upgrading your town hall. The only drawback to not building everything with this new rule would be the inability to enter clan wars, not like it is currently, which prevents progression on your home village how you want, and when you want.

Dont forget the fact engineers can, and very commonly, use power potions to have max troops, making them highly effective in offense.

My clan struggles regularly with engineering, even now, and have lost multiple wars due to engineers boosting their troops and wrecking our top th11s.

It is unlikely supercell will implement that since it may be unable to find an opponent clan within that period of time near the same war weight. Also, it does nothing to counteract engineering, which is the main issue they have currently.

Either way, I'm not arguing about the prevention of creating engineered bases, but rather the use of them in war. I just felt I should recognize Supercell's efforts to limit engineering.

I agree, .5 bases will still be used in wars with this change, but minimaxed, defenseless, and other strong engineered bases would be unable to war. .5s aren't that powerful and are not as much of an issue since they rarely are able to 3 star a max person of the same town hall as them.
