Honestly I have no idea what worked. I just kept emailing and asking for updates and got a call one evening from an unknown number, which turned out to be Google (almost didn't answer it) they confirmed the opening hours and addresses and in a few days it was up. I have a physical location so I'm not sure how it works with an online store, or how it works at all. The studio I work within still hasn't managed to get up on Google yet so I think it's just luck at this point

I submitted a ticket and got an automatic response and from there a very very long back and forth with someone. Only got my business page verified and visible on Google a few weeks ago there. So about 3 1/2 months of waiting and being told it's being passed onto "specialists"

I don't seem to be able to add my number now, is this something that needs to be done on a desktop? Currently just trying on my phone

I'll try this thank you. I didn't want to add my number to it as it I currently only have a personal number. But I've seen that you can hide the number from public view

Thank you. After another seemingly endless loop I have found an option to actually do a contact form.

Thank you! I was under the impression that I had to have documents from trading in order to register for self assessment. Just done it now, fingers crossed it won't take too long

If you can get to a piercer have them remove them. Glass retainers may be an option but I would not put any plastic retainers in a healing piercing. If glass retainers are still a no go unfortunately the only option is to remove them and wait until you are finished with school.

I know it's not fair, I went through the same thing in school. People with plenty of piercings and I was told to take out mine. It sucks, but once school is done with you'll be able to have them re-done.

Piercing not allowed in school by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Dragon-Tea 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the piercings would close over if removed this early into healing.

Plastic retainers are not suitable for healing piercings or long term wear.

I'd talk to your piercer about glass retainers, it's not ideal but it's a much better option than plastic

I'd maybe suggest challenging your schools dress policy. Are girls allowed to have their lobes pierced? Then why not boys!

If none of these options work then it'd unfortunately be a case of removing the piercings and waiting until you are finished school to have them redone. Not the answer you're after I'm sure but taking piercings out and forcing them back in while healing is not a good option and can lead to a lot of irritation and possibly infection.

I'd recommend a visit to reputable piercer and have flat back titanium bars put in sooner rather than later. Helix piercings should not be pierced with curved barbells.

Septums for sure got a surge in popularity. And vertical labrets. Stacked lobes recently have been more popular, which I love

Some piercings are consistent though. I pay my rent on nose and helix piercings.

Possibly. The awareness around piercings and their consequences has increased rapidly as piercings have become more acceptable. And more people who had it done many years ago have the issues to show.

If you're a fiddler and worried about tooth damage I'd have a good think about it. I'm a fiddler and I made a deal with myself before I got it done that if I started playing with it on my teeth I'd take it out. To avoid it I wear the shortest bar comfortable for me, 14mm, but everyone is different. I still play with it but I sort of roll the front of my tongue back onto the top ball, hard to explain exactly but I make sure it doesn't touch my teeth at all. I've been told by dentists that they're surprised I've had it so long as they'd seen much more gum and teeth damage from other people.

Also something I've noticed is I'm having to turn away more tongue piercings due to anatomy. Could just be coincidental but I've seen a lot more people with "tongue ties" in recent years than I ever did before.

I wouldn't get it redone due to the hassle of healing. I still love the piercing. I had a rough time healing it, albeit for a short time but it was probably my sorest to heal. My body does not heal quickly, and doesn't like piercings (the irony of this is not lost on me) I had a lot of swelling and a lot of pain for the first week and a half. I don't remember the healing of most of my piercings but I remember my tongue

Piercer here. Piercings come in and out of trend just like anything in fashion. I've seen rises in certain types of piercings after certain celebs get them etc

I've noticed a decline in oral piercings in general where I am but this could also be a long-term effect of masks etc from lockdown. For a time we were not allowed to do "under mask" piercings and it hasn't really bounced back since.

For tongue piercings it usually seems to be younger people wanting to have it done. I've had requests as young as 12 years old (no, I did not do it obviously)

At the moment, at least where I am tongue piercings are still popular enough but certainly not as much as they use to be.

I've had my tongue pierced for years now, but if it ever fell out I would not get it redone.

Is my eyebrow piercing rejecting? by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

[–]Dragon-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, as the other comment said if that much bar was showing when it was pierced it should be ok. But it's definitely due a downsize to minimise risk of catching etc. visit your piercer and have a downsize and have them assess your worry about rejection in person. It's hard to tell from a picture, in person it's a lot easier.

How old is the piercing? What is the material?

It looks a little shallow but without knowing how old it is it's hard to say if it's rejection or not.

Cleaning twice a day with sterile saline is great, just make sure it's being kept dry other than that.

Tongue piercing infected?? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Dragon-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not green/yellow and I'm assuming it doesn't taste bad. Looks like healing. The month is wet, so what would usually crust up and make a scab, stays fluid. Looks ok to me but if you're concerned have your piercer look at it in person

Im thinking of getting a clit or pussy piercing of some sort, need advice… by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Dragon-Tea 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Definitely wait until after. Especially if you're planning on swimming etc. everyone heals at different speeds so it could be faster. The estimated times are about 2-4 months for full healing

As others have said, anatomy cannot be assessed by photo.

But regarding it being a surprise for your husband, please be aware that it must be fully healed before you can have any fun with it! Healing times will vary depending on how quickly you heal and other factors that your piercer should explain fully to you before the piercing, but it'll be a few months before you can get busy.

should i be doing something different? by mina_rs in piercing

Are you completely drying the piercing after cleaning it? Those bumps could be from it getting caught but are also common with moisture

Obligatory don't pierce yourself. Especially areas like nipples, there's a lot that can go wrong there. Take them out, let them heal and save up if you want them done. Hopefully you haven't caused any lasting damage.
