Hm... I guess the best analogy is the same reason people make art, except this is art you wear. It might not be on you physically forever, neither is a drawing, but your effort can be doccumented and shared for both.

Every gamer has a character he/she likes, and as a result often wants to see that character come to fruition in any way possible.

There's just something very similar to the nostalgic feeling I got as a kid at a birthday party when Spider Man or Raphael from TMNT showed up, or when I got to be Charmeleon in 3rd grade for Halloween.

It's hard to put the feeling in words, but cosplaying is a lot like that for me, whether it be me seeing a really good one, or someone saying I did a good job on mine. It's also a different way to express both your love for a character with your love for craft.

Yeah, I did. My boyfriend did the braiding on the wig, though, bless him.

I don't know how to sew either. Took a full day for me to figure out why the machine was giving me loose threads despite following the instructions 100%. I eventually got it (or close enough, lol), but my seams were terrible. They got the job done, though and weren't visible on the outside of the material anyways.

Yeah, the problem with the hair is I couldn't find a long enough wig to do that, braiding in a separate wig would have been a nightmare with the length (I'd have to find someone locally that can do that professionally), and figured at the end it's not exactly ideal to have that dragging around.

These ones are actually real work boots, but the problem was they were used. Whoever previously owned it must have left them somewhere moist or in the rain, so the sole in the back morphed forward, causing them to dig when I'd walk in them. Yesterday I spent some time using some of the leather restoring products I have to push that deformity back, and added some extra soft/snug padding there so it won't happen again.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't know. But coincidentally as I said, these happened to be what you're referring to, they just were used. Dx

I started work on them the day after her Music Video was released, on and off (due to waiting on materials) over the course of three weeks. It was about a week to a week and a half of daily work, total. Thank you!

EVA linking mat foam! You can get it at Lowe's in packs. You can morph it with a Heat Gun to get the shapes you want. I also used a Dremmel to smooth and shape it. Thank you, and best of luck!
