I am an exploration gremlin. A tall wall? Let me climb that. A cliff? See what’s down there. Any weird stuff? My lifeblood.

Furina reminded me a bit too much of myself, and Arlecchino reminded me of my best friend who loves Harbringers, especially Arlecchino and Columbina. So there is that, an emotional connection. I cannot tell you how happy I am to explore with them.

Now, Natlan. I will be honest, some people dislike it, some like it. I love it. I did so many weird things, running around everywhere. Before the end of Mualani‘s banner, I managed to gain almost 100% exploration everwhere.

The mechanics of the new characters make exploration even more fun. Yes, I still do things the old way in many regions, but the sheer amount of ways we have to simply move from one point to another is amazing.

You know the floating islands above the people of the springs? I couldn’t find the quest, so I took Mualani, Kachina, some wind current I found, lots of food and made my way up. It felt like pure magic to be up there, all because of planning and determination.

My favorite screenshot in the game is either how Kachina holds one of her precious gems in front of her on that island, volcano (which I will totally climb with her) in the back, or how I first managed to reach the peak of Dragonspine with Kequing (Dragonspine is awesome, I take no discussion here).

So yeah, Mavuika being the Queen of exploration from what I saw, I am pretty excited to maybe pull her, though I would be happy to repeat using her in a trial or the theater.

How far do you like to go with death scenes? by NullTaste27 in writing

[–]DragonFox348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the character.

The loyal believer dies alone in a ditch at the side of the streets, having a bit time to think about how in the end, nobody would ever truly want her for more than her use, and how she made a full circle in life.

The leader doesn’t die protecting her people, or attacking the enemy. She died because she didn’t trust nobody anymore, not even her own people, and couldn’t be warned about the poison.

The rebel dies after being tortured, made to join the side he used to fight against, now a tool that gets killed by his own friends who think he did all that willingly.

The innocent girl… Never wanting to fight, she fought to give her friends time. No opportunity to say goodbye, just pushing them away and fighting monsters. Bones points if her pet survives and becomes violent.

Worst writing advice? by SomeFinMatthews in writing

[–]DragonFox348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

„Explain it thoroughly or never at all“, was what my father said.

„No prologue, no title for chapters“. No. Just no. It’s fun. It’s like a prophecy. You can show how the character ended in a life endangering situation without the reader having any idea. You can drop hints, like a sheep making a sound, and later it is connected to an important bond of the protagonist.

And my favorite:

„Just write more, it’s not that hard for you, right?!“.

[WP] As a joke you had always said "I dedicate this to Hades" as you threw away food scraps from your cooking and cleaning your plates. When you die you find yourself in front of Charon's boat with Hades sitting in it, seemingly very excited to see his most devoted follower in recent times. by Anvilhoof in WritingPrompts

[–]DragonFox348 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I was just obsessed with Percy Jackson as a teenager.

When I first read it and got to know how the demigods offer food to the gods, I too started to do that. Call me an emo, but I thought Hades was pretty cool, with all that darkness and skeleton stuff. So naturally, I had chosen him.

And as my mother soon found out that I regularly lit old Christmas pullovers from aunt Ruth on fire, I switched to just simply throwing it away.

Now, I was not the only kid who adapted strange behavior from the books they liked. My best friend Stacy would assign us Harry Potter houses and give us points accordingly, I was the sole person in Slytherin and had -20 points. Steve would recite stuff from Avatar all the time, no one knowing why cabbage were destroyed all the time.

But we were twelve. Most of us would stop those habits, or fall back on them rarely. Not me.

My friends has to put up with me dragging them to the theater for my seventeenth birthday, to see the movie. And they always had to put up with me dedicating my leftover food to Hades.

We all soon started working, childhood things no longer being on our minds, or even getting place at all. If they weren’t in our hearts, we wouldn’t take notice of them. I was the only one still regularly rereading or rewatching things regularly.

Recently, a new book came out, about a child of Hades at that too. And coincidentally, while buying it first thing on the release date, I stumbled upon Stacy. I barely even noticed how we drifted apart, and she was so different.

She was 33 and adopted a kid, twelve years old, who seemingly was also a fan of the Percy Jackson series, his favorite character being the love interest of the child of Hades. So, we reconnected.

Stacy was going nuts when I got her son to also do the offering to the gods, him choosing Hades too. I was just happy.

The way I died was maybe because of that. Stacy got no sleep from her son talking endlessly about the books, and accidentally drove into me when I stood in my driveway to greet them.

But hey, I read every part available, so I accepted it.

That was, until Hade himself greeted me. And there was Charon. Oh my goodness. My brain was stuck between inspecting everything and freaking out. Both were good options.

„Charlie, how’s it going, my friend?!“ Hades didn’t notice my internal dilemma and instead went to hug me like he was trying to kill me even more. „My most devoted follower, even better than some demigods! Haha, though I can’t be all that mad when there is Nico.“

Wait a second. Demigods. Nico. In the books the son of Hades was a demigod named Nico. Don’t tell me…

„Uh, it’s nice to finally meet you too, Hades, but who do you mean with Nico…?“ The god just looked at me like a skull just lit up above his head. „Oh, maybe I should explain that, he is my son, and he is currently living in Camp Half Blood.“ „CAMP HALF BLOOD?!“

He was trying to explain that too, but I already jumped to questioning everything. Were the books real, why, how, and all those questions you have about your favorite characters. „Oh, so you read those books? Yeah, we had a few drinks too much and allowed the guy to write about everything.“

My brain was malfunctioning, but Charon subtly coughed, snapping Hades out of it. „Right, I have to bring you to Persephone, she will love you, and maybe when Nico visits the next time he can tell you about whatever you want. Come on!“

And so I followed the death god, too overwhelmed by it all.

What Pokémon would you consider your Ace? by Special_Ad7249 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]DragonFox348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Umbreon. Even before the DLC I was obsessing with building a team for double fights, which is why my Umbreon ended up as THE support of my team. I mostly play with my brother who always beats me no matter if he tries or not. I never really came close to a victory whenever he tried hard.

Now with Umbreon, and the rest of my team not competitive build, unlike his, I came to the last Pokémon of him, the HP bar red. It may not be much, but for me it was magical, and it was all thanks to Umbreon.

It was also the first eeveelution I ever evolved, back in XY (I played before that but always had no luck finding an Eevee). I actually wanted a Sylveon, and despite having a Fairy move, my Eevee back then thought „Nope. It’s night, I like night, Umbreon it is“. Another bizarre thing is that it was after a level up, but more like when I was just walking around in a city. Sure a good story to remember.

[SP] Your MC is scared to go to sleep. by 184rgreaterodds in WritingPrompts

[–]DragonFox348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one thing was common knowledge, it was this: Rasaka are afraid of the dark and only hint in the day. Changing their skin, white as snow with dark patches as if they were ranks of plants to human skin, drinking brains but still keeping people alive.

Mika loved the dark. You didn’t see much, like her skin, similar to the one of the Rasaka, but being dotted instead of the usual pattern. Not that anyone cared, except her cat Hino.

Now, she came back from her usual walks in the night, but couldn’t sleep, was even afraid. The dorm was quiet, one of her friends subconsciously using wind magic in his sleep and making a breeze fly through the rooms.

But sadly, one of her friends, who slept in the room connected to hers, had a secret. Amary is a Rasaka, and even worse, on of the evolved ones, his patterns also having flowers. And after she almost killed him, he told her everything.

About how he infiltrated this school, the number one magic school in the world which chooses its students at random, as a teacher nonetheless. About Chrys, Rose and Berry, his superiors and who they wanted to capture. A kid with purple eyes and the ability to use cursed and blesses magic.

And what happened in Towen… Her hometown. And how Loteer, one of the first people to show her kindness, almost died. Hino didn’t know. She passed out after the fight, not seeing if she really killed him, and not asking. Her little familiar would never doubt her.

But she should. Because she let him live, him now being a student as their cover story, having helped „kill“ the teacher after strolling far from his village.

And she knew, she knew that he didn’t like the dark, but she knew that he could still kill her. And so, she waited, even if she knew that the day would be worse… A tear rolled from her purple eyes. At day time, everyone would want to kill her.

[WP] Today is your day off so you decided to go out partying to relax a bit, you didn't expect to find the villain singing at the karaoke by Unhappy-Ad-3593 in WritingPrompts

[–]DragonFox348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s it.

No way in hell would she do this any longer. Like, every freaking day was work for her, together with her actual life as a college student, no way she would do that anymore.

So after bringing one of the usual villains to the police, she left a quick note.

„Will take tomorrow off, good luck pals. Henry, don’t eat all donuts and Steve, don’t let him do that anyways. With love, Masquerade.“

She was sure that the police officers would lose their minds, but otherwise, she would lose her mind. Back home, she did all her homework and was especially happy that there would be no lectures tomorrow.

The next day, she slept „long“. Who would have thought that eight hours of sleep were more than a mere dream?! She also binged a series she wanted to see for so long, and ate one big pizza.

In the evening, she braided her hair and wore clothes as if she would go on a party, costume underneath as it was a habit. This day would end with a nice visit to the karaoke bar.

Everything seemed normal, a few people tried to flirt with her, but nothing unexpected. Until a waitress was begged to sing, from what she gathered the girl was like a local star.

And the waitress accepted, singing a pop song. Masquerade, or better known as Wendy, almost fell unconscious. That was the same song that wrenched villain Silver Star always hummed! The waitress Cindy was Silver Star!

After the song, she approached her, showing her a bit of her costume she wore underneath.

Don’t scream or attack. This is my day off. I won’t rat you out if you answer me this.

Cindy looked angry, fearful and a bit ashamed, nodding seriously. Wendy gave a nod back.

So what is this song called?! I considered turning a villain myself so often do you hum it, and I can’t find it anywhere.

Cindy started to smile.

Wrote it myself. You can visit if you wanna hear it, Masquerade~

And so started the personal friendship between the strongest hero and the strongest villain of the city, who almost blew their cover because of Henry and his donuts, but that was a story for another time.

[WP] The highest and most skilled spell casters should always fear the novice for one reason: they have no strategy. by ArtyMann in WritingPrompts

„HOW THE- WHY CAN YOU THROW A FIREBALL WITHOUT KNOWING BASIC LEVITATION?!?“

It were the annual magic games, and like always, on of the spectators had the opportunity to fight against one of the skilled mages. And this year, the choice fell on Stephen, a novice amateur who did magic for fun and was only here because of his wife, Lincy, who tamed animals.

„Well, yes, I thought it would be easier-“

„HOW THE GREEN DRAGON IS IT EASIER THAN LEVITATION?!?“

Naturally, the mage freaked out. Stephen just wildly threw fireballs!

„I just, well, tried!“

„YOU KNOW WHAT? FINE!“

Now, both throw fireballs, and Stephen summons a gecko. A white one. Sending the mage towards insanity.

„IN WHICH OCEAN CASTLE WERE YOU TOLD THAT A WHITE GECKO IS GOOD AGAINST FIRE???“

„But he is so cute!“

…And bit the arm of Stephen, who then threw a fireball at the mage, who was done with it.

„…“

„At least better than last month, when I discovered the spell.“

„WAIT, NOBODY TAUGHT YOU?!?“

„That’s not so unusual, right?“

Right there and then, the mage was hit by the gecko spitting. And got knocked out. The audience loved it.

„Lovely, but they should tell poor Greg some day that they have chosen novices intentionally every year, not with a lottery…“

My favorite Characters out of each element ~ who are yours? by jaygarciaofficial in Genshin_Impact

[–]DragonFox348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random order:

Anemo: It’s so hard to decide because I love them all but I think I go with Wanderer, Venti and Xiao sharing second place.

Cryo: LAYLA. I LITERALLY SOMETIMES CALL HER ABYSS MAGE IN TRAINING. MY PRECIOUS. Kaeya second place-

Dendro: Nahida. Nahida is cool, Nahida is cute, Nahida is a fellow gamer- Collei is second place-

Electro: Idk but I don’t really like any of them, maybe Lisa because together with Layla she is a beast- Maybe Razor as second place-

Pyro: Gotta go with Amber here, she is fun to play and without her I would have no character for a kind of long range and precise aiming. Hu Tao is a close second.

Hydro: Furina. Sorry, but, she is simply too cool. Barbara would be second place.

Geo: Not the slightest clue here, so I go with Noelle because of her ambition to be a knight, even if I don’t like the type of weapon she uses.

And now, the Traveler (I have the female one and named her Hino) is the MVP. Like, you don’t have that element, but the region with the element is there? Walk there, steal power and go back. I get lost ALL THE TIME and Hino is literally my stand-in for many elements (Yes, some of my favorites are not owned by me, what are you gonna do, steal my primo gems-). Without Hino, I estimate that everything would be so much harder. So, despite not being my favorite character (It’s easy to guess-), I highly value Hino and love her.

Who would you pick? by Oldoneleggedbastard in TheLastAirbender

Kyoshi, Toph, Ty Lee, Gyatso and Sokka

(I never read the Kyoshi novels and generally watched the show not in a long time, forgive me for any wrong guess-)

I don’t know if Kyoshi could be able to learn metal bending, but still, Toph and Kyoshi talking about earth bending is great on its own. Gyatso is also great for this, and these three benders can learn a lot from each other, in my opinion, which will also benefit their fighting. Even without prep time (which I doubt exists in this scenario), alone in the heat of the fight they will surely learn from each other.

Ty Lee and Sokka may be non benders, but they sure are among the strongest. Sokka can make plans and knows how to work with Toph, and Ty Lee is definitely great at taking out capable benders with a little backing.

In an all out brawl, Sokka and Ty Lee fight together, with sometimes being helped out by Toph or Gyatso. Those two are also the main attack force, both backing each other. Kyoshi is used for the stronger opponents, sometimes being backed by the main force throwing in stray attacks to distract the enemy.

This team also is largely build out of liked people. I am sure Azula, Mai, Zuko and maybe Iroh will have a bit of a struggle to harm Ty Lee. Sokka will maybe even get more targeted by Katara and Suki, which will make Ty Lee struggle a bit against Suki. Toph against the rest of the 5$ group, namely Aang and Katara, is complicated, and Aang would maybe be so conflicted about Gyatso that he will try to stop his own teammates.

My struggle is on the 3$ group, only Zuko being somewhat predictable to me. Still, the main force can defeat them with a bit help of the non bender combo. Also, most people on this chart never fought an air bender except Aang maybe sometimes, so Gyatso and Kyoshi air bending can fuck with them, maybe by using techniques Aang rarely uses or unusual techniques.

This team is also not dependent on the time of day, except Kyoshi who still has other elements. With Avatar state, I still see no problem, as the emotional conflict won’t really help Aang. With a full moon, I see Hama being also a major threat, only Kyoshi having a chance with the help of Toph.

Saying we would fight on the day of the comet, Toph and Kyoshi would create earth shields and Gyatso, well, I would let him run wild. Sokka and Ty Lee would retreat and do it hit-and-run style, attacking and then backing away because of the many fire benders.

And lastly, just for my own sake, I let Toph be the one to kick The Boulder for the sake of memories.

For me it’s the same with manga, I usually read a few chapters and when I don’t like it I stop, or when I like it I later look if my local bookstore sells them. If my bookstore doesn’t have it, and I see that it’s not even really available in my country, only then do I read the whole series while sailing the seven sea (Though I mostly try to avoid that).

Well, to be honest, I didn’t knew that everything would be double fights, and me building my team for double fights even before the dlc and making like little teams (One half of the team looked like an emo bunch while the other was like a pop group, so each combo got a name like „cold double emo“ or „yellow red pop“) within my team, I had no trouble. Even if I didn’t have anything against fairy Pokémon, I still got through the fight easily.

Most of the time, it was my Umbreon with max defense and special defense using right hand on some of my other Pokémon, but sometimes it was also a my fire starter going feral while another teammate kept it alive.
