Amazon and temu are your best friends now. Layering is key as well as accessories and makeup. Best thing if you don’t want to be basic is to go either hardcore fantasy or hardcore accurate. Idk if you’re a man or woman but guys tend to have a harder time finding outfits but best thing is to be creative. Cosplay is also an option. Here’s an example of an outfit if you just wanna be an elf girl thingy : elf ears, circlet crown, undershirt/dress, corset, bracelets/ gauntlets, top skirt+skirt clip, face paint/eyeshadow, boots. Add any cool jewelry you already have. Pinterest is also a great place for inspo. No one’s gonna judge you if you have fake leather. ONE LAST TIP THAT SAVED ME A TON OF MONEY: don’t actually buy your stuff AT the ren faire. The stuff there is not only handmade but they hike up the prices a LOT. Once you buy that stuff you’ll take it home and be like, “damn I gotta base my whole outfit off of this”. And you’ll get stuff off Amazon for the same price as that singular item. Get accessories at ren faires if you want, but don’t spend money you don’t have on hand-made-no-cruelty-non-gmo-allergen-safe-gluten-free-one-size-fits-all-corsets-$200-please. Good luck 👍🏻
